HP 17" Pavilion monitor turns on and off continuously.

The monitor has power and doesn't go into sleep mode. It blinks off and on continuously. Any suggestions as to how to resolve the problem?

There are 4 transistors on the power board that are not quit up to par. One of them had died on you. I suggest to replace them all with higher quality transistors. I can't remember the transistors I used to fix the problem but I do remember that I used transistors that could handle higher voltage. Now while you have gone this far there is a bad solder joint on the same board. You should inspect and give it a nice new weld. I hope this helped. Good luck.

Turn off the screen turn off in the power saving options and if that doesn't work then speak to HP, only reason I know is because that's what I had with the exact same monitor!

The problem you are encountering is not your monitor but your computer. There is a problem with your CPU unit. To know this info in true then try this.,remove the connections of the monitor from your own computer then use the monitor to the other computer and see. Hope this could help you determine the real problem.
