Question about Maytag MDB7100AWB Dishwasher
DISHWASHER SEEMS TO WORK BUT MAKE HORRIBLE NOISE AT BEGINNING. I CHECKED ALL THE OBVIOUS THINGS EVEN TOOK OUT BOTTOM PART TO LOOK FOR ANTHING THAT MAY BE STUCK MY FRIEND THINKS IT IS THE TRANSMISSION/MOTOR????
The first step in a dishwasher's program cycle is activating the drain pump. If there are obstructing objects in the impeller it could make noise, also if the drain pump's bearings/motor is damaged. I don't know what you meant by taking out bottom part, maybe it was the drain pump you checked?
If you didn't this is normally an easily accessible component, when you have it out you can also check that the impeller rotates freely and that it feels and sounds ok in the bearings.
Maybe there is a possibility to attach a sound file here, it would help to diagnose the problem.
