Go further into detail. Is it giving you a "check and remove" error, or just not printing? If it is simply not printing, try heating some water up, dampening a paper towel and wiping the print head(*the bottom of the cartridge where the ink comes out) and pressing on the paper towel to get a "foot print".
If it is giving you an error, then you might have to update online. The check and remove error can sometimes be solved with online critical updates. If it is telling you cartridge has failed, then the circuits are bad, and you should contact HP. Their cartridges have warranties too
