Replace power supply for mitsubishi LT-52148

Unplug the monitor power cable. You should never attempt to disassemble an electronic component without first detaching it from its direct power source.

    • 2
Remove the screws from the back of the monitor and along the edge of the screen. Depending on manufacturer and model, LCD monitors will have screws located on different parts of the monitor's body. Once the screws are off, use a flat-tipped tool, such as a knife or a screwdriver, to pry the monitor open by dislodging the two halves; be careful not to tear wires connecting the two halves.

    • 3
Locate the power supply unit and take its metal casing off. Once again, different models of LCD monitors will have the unit placed in different locations. With the casing undone, unplug cables running from the power supply to other internal components. Mark the cables that you unplug from the power supply--you will have to plug them back in to the new unit.

    • 4
Dislodge the power supply from its dock. In some monitors you might have to undo screws that hold the power supply unit in place. Remember the orientation of the unit as it was placed, because you will have to insert the new unit in exactly the same way.

    • 5
Insert the new power supply into the dock and screw it in place. If you do not have a new power supply, read the label on the existing one to order a new one from the manufacturer or from a third-party supplier. Obtain a power supply unit that is compatible with your LCD monitor; never try to use a generic spare. After installing the new unit, plug in the cables exactly as they were in the old unit.

    • 6
Put the power supply casing back on and reassemble the LCD monitor frame. Gently clasp the two halves of the monitor shut, making sure you have reattached all cables that you unplugged to take the monitor apart. Close the casing, tucking away all cables neatly so they do not get in the way of the monitor casing.

    • 7
Put all the screws back on. Once done, you should have no leftover pieces (screws or cables).

Lcd light has gone on MCF 210C Brother machine,

Possible failure of the power supply unit or the LCD unit of the printer. You will need to remove the power supply and check the voltage feed to the mother board and the sub panel LCD unit.
If there is supply to the unit then the LCD panel is faulty, if not the mother board has errors as it fails to communicate to the panel.

My Sony Bravia LCD Model-KVL37S400A is not getting the Main Power supply. The LCD is not getting switched on. Nothing is happening when i click on the Power button.

Hi
You may have a power supply problem with the unit. Have the unit checked for correct power voltage ratings on the PS. Or just replace the power supply

I have an LG L1952HQ LCD monitor that shuts off every 5-10 sec. it's not the PC going into power saver or srceen saver mode

greatatuin1, Tell me the "date of manufacture" from rear of unit!! You may need to inspect the units power supply printed circuit board or black-brick switchmode power supply. Is power supply "lay on floor" type or internal to monitor case? Is your pc working ok with "differerent" monitor?? Have you been to youtube to watch "refurbishment" DIY videos of cold cathode-fluorescent-lamp back-lit lcd monitors??? If unit is really old and has lots and lots of "on" hours, you may even need to replace the CCFL lamps also. Tell me more info, so I can advise you. Symptom seems to be "black screen of death" !! Have you performed or even know the "flashlight test" that every ccfl lcd monitor owner should know??? Do additional comment back to me. 12fixlouie

Gateway FPD1976W 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor. The "TOUR" menu and Adjustment menus keep flashing on and off, and do not respond when you press the side button to shut them off

davea47, Your monitor's internal "switchmode-power-supply" is probably having a problem. You may need to do some electrolytic filter capacitor replacement!!! Problem not new one!! You or qualified lcd monitor technician will need to open unit for inspection/evaluation of power supply board. Do some reading in the fixya profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" (me) and follow links you find there. After investigating your unit let us tech's here at fixya know what you will do to repair unit. 12fixlouie

My VA712 does not turn on, when supply button (mains) not from front panel, switch ON it shows blank screen (no sign of turn on) but when repeatedly switch ON & Off it Turns On & shows the display....

bholesir, If unit covered by ViewSonic warranty, USE IT!!! The units "switch-mode-power-supply" is in need of service!! Unit WILL require inspection and repair of possible bad (poor quality soldering) soldering of electronic components to the prinded circuit cards and or need replacement of bad (poor quality) electrolytic filter capacitors on the unit's "switch-mode-power-supply"/"CCFL inverter circuit" that have failed!! Do a visit to YOUTUBE for "LCD monitor disassembly" and "LCD monitor repair" so you can familarize FYI with what is inside your monitor, and possibly make a decision to do a DIY repair or contract out the work to a local TV/LCD monitor repair shop. If your pocket is deep enough, maybe you will repair and buy a new unit, keeping VA712 as spare unit for a rainy day. Read more of my responses to other owners in my FIXYA profile for more options not mentioned here. Good luck with repair. 12fixlouie

Powers up but the picture is so faint that you can not make anything out. what might be the problem. power supply is good.

bigred7648, The power supply inside unit needs work. You have typical failure of either the "switch-mode-power-supply" or the "inverter" circuit that supplys 500-1000vac to light-up the fluorescent lamps (CCFL's) on rear of your LCD panel. 12fixlouie

19" ITV Flat Panel LCD

Jayon, Need more information!!! Did unit work "perfectly" day before? What did you SEE on the screen when you pushed the on/off buton? How many hours of use does this unit have on it? Is there a blinking LED power indicator on the front panel? Does unit hav sound or no sound? Does screen go completely BLACK? This symptom you have described leads me to think that the unit's SMPS/inverter power supply is going into "SHUTDOWN" mode to save itself from self destruction!!! You will need a Tech to look at it and try to effect a repair. There's not a lot of options you have open to you at this time. If you feel brave enough to try to do a close visual inspection of the switch-mode-power-supply and inverter supply on your own, get back to me. You will also need to do some research on the web for information such as "bad capacitors", "cold-cathode-fluorescent-tube replacement", "switch-mode-power-supply" repair and or "LCD monitor repair and or recapping" You also need to view monitor disassembly video clips on youtube to familarize yourself with what is inside a typical LCD monitor/TV. But that's only if your technically inclined. I'm louis12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @aol.com
Bye for now.
