My scooter will go a reasonable distance and then it loses power like the batteries are low, but if you switch off and leave for a while it's back to normal again.

The controller can be overheating.... going up too long or overloading the weight limit(too much stuff in the basket)

Gears not engaging properly

If it is the typical worn motor and the scooter is over 5 years old you are better off buying a new scooter.
Gears rarely go bad unless they were overloaded. It's usually the motor that wears out and is intermittent before it goes.

Electrical shuts off or slows down when riding

You may need to replace the battery even though it is charging. It sounds like a bad battery or the motor may be overloaded.

Why does my scooter drives for 10 to 15 feet then kicks the reset switch

Hello John.CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPS FREQUENTLY.Possible Cause:Overload caused by exessive demand on motors (low tire pressure, sticky brake, seized wheel bearings etc).
Heavy load on steep incline.
Loose batteries terminal connections.
I hope this will help you get mobile again, have a nice day.

According to the Owners Manual: Circuit Breaker (Reset Button)
Your scooter is fitted with the latest in electronic controls that are programmed to protect
the electrical system from abnormal overloads. Provided for extra protection is a circuit
breaker, located on the battery pack. Should there be a situation where your scooter stops
for no apparent reason, please check that the circuit breaker has not popped.

If you have misplaced your Owners Manual, here is a link to one. It may not be the exact model you have (as, your Model # was not recognized), but they all work pretty much the same way.

Celebrity XL4, when going up hill, power cuts out. turn key off and back on, scooter will go again for a couple of feet.

Sounds like Overload Cutout ??? Use a Higher Rating Cutout, as going up hill is very hard on Scooters and it also depends on your weight.
