Most DVD have sub titles already on them. You have to set up your player to turn them on.

You should be able to select the subtitles off on the main menu of any DVD you are watching. Nearly all DVD's have the ability to set the audio language.

Subtitles are controlled from the DVD player. If there is not a 'Subtitle' button on the DVD player's remote, you will have to turn off the subtitle from the DVD player's menu system.

I can't get my VBR334 to keep subtitles ON. After I turn on subtitles, if I (a) pause playback, (b) hit the Next button or (c) Fast Forward, the subtitles go away. I have spent many cell minutes with Vizio and even got a replacement unit. Once I updated the firmware, the subtitles started breaking. Anyone else hit this problem?

there may be a subtitle button on your remote. After pressing if it doesn't work then there mayn't be subtitle available on your dvd disc.

Turn of the closed captioning on your TV menu.

go to dvd set up menu and reset the settings. try again to see subtitles.
