My Rowenta steamer turns on and the water gets hot but no steam comes out. Can you help?

Have you made sure the steam setting is "on" ? Are the jets clogged? (white dry material in holes of hot side of iron).

The iron heats up and the steam pressures up but wont come out. checked the holes and a wee bit of steam comes out once in a while

Sounds like something is clogged with corrosion or scale.
Most small appliance are not cost effective to repair. Suggest buy a new one and instead use distilled water.

My argos steam generator iron is leaking and now does not produce steam, whats the problem and how can i resolve this problem?

tank or ports clogged: Disassembly and inspect , replace tank and seal if badly clogged or leaking. Emptying iron after each use allow heat to evaporate emaining water and help preventing clooging. Inspect valve and linkage: clean and replace as necessary.
God bless you

Rust

No. The machine is not gone but you may have to replace the steam compartment of the machine.. You can also try cleaning the rust.. You will need to get a pair of gloves open the steam compartment and clean the rusted area with dilute oxalic acid.. It will work more often than not..
Good Luck!

Iron Cleaning

If steam iron clogs from minerals in water, follow use-guide directions for cleaning, or use a commercial iron cleaner. A fine needle in the nozzle hole may open it again. Sometimes "steaming" will remove lint clogging the iron; fill with at least 1/4 cup water, set it to "steam", and hold in the air or set flat on wire rack over heat and moisture resistant surface like counter protective mat. Let steam until empty. Using only distilled water in steam irons helps avoid mineral buildup. Or if you have burned stains or darkness on the bottom you can Heat equal parts of vinegar and salt in small pan rub solution on cooled iron surface to remove dark or burned stains
