With MBR I assume you mean master boot record.
Your MBR will be replaced with a new one, and you should then be able to start up normally. In some cases, you may need to repair the boot sector in addition to the MBR. If your system still doesn't boot properly, repeat the steps above, but issue the fixboot command instead.
Exit, quit, restart or reboot command should get you out from the console
If the problem is still not solved, use the windows xp setup disk to do a new installation of windows, if it finds your old windows version from the hard drive you may repair it with the repair option (not the same as above)
