Can't log in the g1 even after I try several gmail account and sims.
I have the same problem, "There is a problem communicating with the Google servers. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care". Well, at first it works perfectly fine, then after my sis press the reset the faculty, my phone is back from the scratch. Now, I can't even log in at all. Try different sims and accounts but still it doesn't work.

Simply make an account on Google or Gmail on your mobile,be sure 3G signal network is selected on mobile network settings and sufficient account is required,or just make an account on your computer then if success,log on to your mobile,same settings required.
You need to have a data plan on your SIM card, or a friend with the same provider with a SIM card you can borrow. The phone REQUIRES a data package to activate. You can however get past the activation, however this is quiet involved. I would google search it if you really want to attempt to get past the problem, but I am warning you, this is tough.
You need to be set up for the G1 data plan through T-Mobile. This is the 24.99 plan for g1 data + 400 texts, or 34.99 for g1 data and unlimited texts. If you are setup through online billing, you can do this through the website by clicking "Account>Add/Change services". If you do not have web billing, you can contact billing by phone.
Note - it can take up to 24 hours to become active, but on mine, it only took 10 minutes.
The G1 uses your SIM information to connect to GPRS/Edge to register the gmail information. It sounds like you don't have a G1 data plan on your account. The G1 data plans are 24.99 for unlimited data and 400 texts, or 34.99 for unlimited data and texts. I made the mistake of thinking that my regular 19.99 data plan would work, but it would not.
If you have TMO web-billing you can add the feature on by logging into the website and clicking "My Account > Change/Add services" or if you don't have web billing, you can do it over the phone with a billing rep.

Also, make sure you are using the correct SIM. I know a lot of people got these phones for xmas and they came with another SIM pre-inserted.
Hi, I had that problem. I first verified that my TMobile internet was activated on my account and on my SIM card by putting the card in another phone and connecting to the 'net on it. Then I found the APN setting on the G1 and I changed the APN at the heading "T-Mobile US" from the new 3G APN "epc.tmobile.com" to the older APN "internet2.voicestream.com". The APNs can be accessed on your still-locked phone by pushing the "Menu" button at the sign-in screen. Scroll down to "T-Mobile US", select it and change "epc.tmobile.com" to "internet2.voicestream.com", exit by pushing the left-arrow button a few times, then re-enter your GMail info. If the "Edge" icon has appeared in the menu bar area, then you're golden!
