The most basic way to attempt to fix a router problem is to reboot the device. This is accomplished by unplugging the power cord, waiting for a minute and then plugging the power connector back in. If the orange light continues to blink, you will have to update its firmware.
Download New Firmware
Even though the wireless router is malfunctioning, downloading new firmware is possible by disconnecting the malfunctioning Linksys device from the Internet connection in the wall, then using that jack to plug your machine directly to the Internet. If this is not possible, use another computer that can connect to the Internet. You can download a firmware update directly from Linksys (see Resources).
Install New Firmware
Once you have the firmware update available on the computer affected by the malfunctioning router, open the file and follow the instructions to upgrade the devices firmware.
You can try a firmware upgrade. you can get the firmware from the manufacturer websight
If your high-def disc player has an Ethernet port, connecting it directly to the Internet is the most streamlined way to check for and install updates-though this requires that you connect an Ethernet cable from your Internet connection to your high-def movie player, which may prove difficult depending on your setup. Since every player is different, refer to your owners' manual for instructions on how to connect your player to the internet and how to update the firmware. With some players, you may have to power cycle the player after changing network settings before you can download firmware.
The firmware for the Wii can be updated via the internet if you have a wireless router connected to the internet. The instruction manual expains how to connect the Wii to the internet.
Some newer games also include firmware updates.
Hi, Usually firmware update takes much time depending on the speed of the Internet connection which you have. First nokia updater have to be downloaded and when you try updating your mobile firmware then the nokia updator downloads the necessary update files from internet which takes again some time. After the firmware download then actual firmware updation happens. This will take some minutes. Please note that interruption in firmware update may make your mobile unusable. Then you have to make a service call if anything happens like that. so perform firmware update with a high speed Internet connection and have UPS for your system. I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks
Linksys loves to ship their routers with out-dated firmware. If you haven't updated the firmware of your router, that would be the first thing I'd do. From what I've read about routers and PS3, a lot of routers had trouble when they came out but had firmware updates to resolve the problem.
You'll need to go to the below link and select your version to get firmware downloads specific to your Model router and version number. The version number is listed on the bottom of your router next to the model.
Be sure to read up on how to update the firmware and be sure you only update the firmware from a computer connected via WIRED connection to the router. Doing it wirelessly will cause disconnection from the router mid update and will cause your router to become a paper-weight!
If you're encountering a very internet connection on your router, this is can be a problem with either the internet connection from your modem or the firmware of the router should be updated, first thing that you can try is to update the firmware of the firmware of the router, you can download the latest firmware of it from Belkin web site then after that observe the connection if you still have a slow internet using the router , Try to check now the internet from your modem by connecting a computer directly to your modem and if you still have the same problem internet connection from your ISP is the problem so you can contact them about that..........
This is likely because out of the box, the firmware for this unit doesn't support WPA2 and even certain variants of WPA. I recommend: configure router for WEP or even open (i.e. unencrypted) connection, connect unit, go to setup/update firmware and let it update from network, power cycle, reconfigure your router for WPA or WPA2 security, attempt to reconnect unit to wifi. The updated firmware supports more formats and may allow your new router's config to work. You can also try doing the firmware update over the wired LAN port. Hope this helps.
