Question about Panasonic TB 31 I5-520M 2.4G 2GB 250GB13.1-XGA BT XPP - CF-31ATDAX2M PC Notebook
There is no sound coming out of my speakers. Yet my speaker icon in the task bar says they are at 100%. I have tried all the volume controls. I have reloaded the sound drivers a couple of times. THe system says I have conexant 20584 smart audio HD and also ATI high definition audio device. In the device manager it says both are working properly yet I can not get any sound out of my speakers or my ear phones.

If you go to the device manager and under the details of the unknown driver with the excalmation it says something about mat0019, it's most likely a problem that you don't have your hotkey drivers installed. On the CF-51, you have to have the hotkey drivers in order for the sub-functions of the F-Keys to work (the blue label like brightness, switch monitor output, and SOUND CONTROLS). Even if you have the appropriate sound driver, you will not have sound until you install the hotkey drivers as well. You can get them free from the panasonic busines toughbook support website. You'll have to register. There will be three hotkey related drivers. You HAVE TO INSTALL THEM IN ORDER. First do the hotkey appendix, then settings, then driver. Make sure to restart the machine as requested by the install program during the various installations.

I had the same problem, I also noticed when I used the FN key the display didn't as well. First download new drivers for the HotKey Device, if you have old drivers on you laptop delete them when you try to re-install it always seem to go to those first. Uninstall the drivers for the HotKey Device and then re-install the drivers. Once complete restart your computer. Run HKeyapp, when I finished my FN key functioned normally again and my speakers were working..Hope this helps
