Here's a link to the HP online site which will give you detailed instructions on how to use your printer.
Basically, you use the file drop down menu from the application you wish to print from, choose print, and set the print properties and ok to print and if your printer is turned on and installed properly, it should print.
If you want to download the manual for your printer so you have it on your computer, go here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

How do i scan documents onto my comp

It depends a bit on the software you have installed (OS, etc). If you installed the full-featured software before connecting the all-in-one to your computer, you can scan immediately from the computer. For Windows, open the HP Solution Center (by double-clicking on the icon or Start > All Programs > HP folder > HP Solution Center). Put your document to be scanned face down on the scanner glass and close the lid (ADF pages go face up, top edge first). Click the tab in the Solution Center for your HP product (if you have more than one) and click Scan Picture or Scan Document as appropriate. Set the scanner settings in the pop-up window if needed. Click Scan to start the scan. To use the buttons on the scanner, you need to set the destinations for the buttons in the HP Solution Center (Scan to destination for example) and have the HP monitor running on your computer (this listens to the buttons).

Scanners work with bi-directional communication so USB hubs, print servers or bad cables can result in the printer functions working but not the scanner.

If you install the generic OS driver (by connecting the all in one to the computer before installing the software), the printer will work but the scanner will functions will be limited (the scanner buttons will not work but other functions will depend on the OS). Windows XP can acquire scans in Paint (File > From Camera or Scanner). Windows Vista and Win7 add Windows Fax and Scan which will also acquire scans (not in all versions of Vista). Vista also can acquire scans with Windows Photo Gallery.

The printer works similarly with the Mac OS but hte names may be different.

I hope this helps.

ALLIN ONE 7410 SCANNER PROBLEM

Flat bed glass top scanner works perfectly fine.

ADF Feeding scanner puts red lines on document shown on preview computer screen and will print same if I save or print the document.

HP troubleshooting tips only covers the flat screen scanner gass top.

Called HP and they suggested I either buy a replacement printer for $250.00 or it would cost $400+ to repair this one.

I removed the ADF (three small screws) and cleaned the small section of glass underneath and reinstalled the ADF component.

WORKS FINE NOW !!!

The buttons on the Scanner itself will no longer work.

You should be able to reconfigure the button settings by clicking on the "Settings" button in the CanoScan Toolbox application. Although the default setting is Scan, Copy and eMail, each of the buttons can be configured to do whatever operation you choose.
