Question about Rheem Water Heaters
I bought an 80 gallon electric heater at a second hand store, new in box Rheem 82XR80-2, the description said for non-human use, does that mean I'm putting myself at risk if I install it?
This heater contains higher amounts of lead than the safe water drinking act allows and it is against Federal Law to install in a human consumption usage situation. You should not install it due to high lead hazard

SOURCE: water is no longer hot
probably the thermostat ,also this could be your dip tube broke (burned) off! this tube takes the incoming cold water and sends it to bottom of tank! so only the hot water comes out the top...if broke, the incoming water mixes in the top of tank and presto! lukewarm water.. also I want to point out, as a plumber of 25 years, replacing estimated 200 plus tanks..that the average lifespan of tanks seem to be 11 years....really! so don't spend too much money on this one ! The wattage of the heating elements will determine the amperage you need. Take the total wattage of all the elements and divide it by the voltage you are using (probably 220). That will give you the amperage. Example: 4400 watts divided by 220 volts equals 20 amps.

recently got a new water heater, we are not getting very much hot water and I think it is hooked up wrong. Cold water coming to the tank is in (H) spot on the heater and?? will this keep us from getting very much water???
