Question about HP ScanJet 2100C Flatbed Scanner

Installing a HP Scanjet flatbed scanner

I have the scanner recognised on My Computer and on Scanners and Cameras.  When I try to scan a dialogue box comes up saying "scanner not initialized" and "scanner not found2 The scanner is connected to the power and to the computer.

    Same problem - i have a scanjet 5370C for the mac and it cannot find the scanner - i've downloaded the driver. still can't be found.

you must try and install the CD first before the system will recognise the hardware......kindly download another drive from the manufacturer site without that i won't work

Scanning Without HP Hardware

1. Click Start
2. Control Panel
3. Click Scanners and Cameras
4. Click on the Icon and follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions.
5. Select the HP scanning device from the TWAIN source list
6. Click File and then Scan New .

Hp scanjet2300c scans have a yellow tint and black patches.


The best way to check if the scanner is okay or not is by installing on another computer. First try B&W, then try color. IF it works may be your OS or driver (of the old comp) is corrupted.
