I have an old sony Big screen projection Model# KP-48v45. It was working just fine until the other day while I was watching it... it just stopped. While watching it , it turned itself off. I tried turning it back on but it didn't work. Instead , all that happen what that there were two "clicks" when trying to turn it on and that the stand-by light kept blinking. I plugged it out with hopes of it resetting but no luck. What could be the probem? What could I or should I do?

Mine is blinking constantly the light for timer. We unplugged it for a day and still continues blinking.

PCB repair should be done by a qualified tech. Your problem could be HV cap bad, xformer defective or bad connection problems and pico fuse open. Check 2KV cap near xformer.

Let me know when TV warms up does it go to standby?
If yes, standby light would be blinking, let me know how many times it blinks?
And if TV does not go to standby mode, does picture remain with red tone?

I had the same problem. blinking 9 times, pausing, 9 times...... remote would not power the tv on. after five minutes of pressing the remote it finally would. after turning it off you would have the same problem. sometimes a half hour of pressing remote in every which what way. finally left the tv on for three days and would mute at nite to go to bed. didn't think that was the best way so turned it off and it never turned back on. checked all the forums and found out it was the g board. unfortunately, you cant buy the whole g board anymore. if you take the back panel off the tv, on the lower left corner is where the g-board is. there are 3 little things to unplug and two screws (phillips head) in the middle of the g board. its simple to figure how to take it out. go to the sony direct parts website. the part # is A1054157A for the g board. since they dont sell it anymore they have a phase 3 program where you send in your old g board and they repair it for 64.95. it'll cost about 8 bucks to ship it to them. better than the 400 bucks the tv guy wanted. address is sony customer satisfaction ctr. , materials door 27H, mount pleasant, PA 15666 there number is 866-748-8272. call first and they give you the step by step instructions what to do. after tax and shipping it came out to less than 80 dollars.even came with a warranty. got it back in a week, popped it in and just love turning the tv on. anyone can do it.
