TV TURNS IT SELF OFF AND ON I HAVE A LG 42'' MODEL 42PC3DV

I had the same problem with it turning on/off constantly, also it "popped" loudly when I would change channels at times. Now I have a 4 amp fuse blown that seems to keep my bulbs from lighting.. What is the part # on the start relay, and where do I get one.

First my television is an LG plasma, model 42PC3D. I can take care of the fuse issue very easily. I NEED TO KNOW THE PART # OF THE START RELAY, ITS COST, HOW TO GO ABOUT PURCHASING AND INSTALLING IT. My problem again is the tv would be difficult in turning on, turning itself on/off without command, turn itself on/off when changing channels, pops alot. Now the 4A fuse is blown and I just have sound, and no picture. Looking for real help, not someone telling me about e-bay or warranties.

    LOOKING FOR START RELAY INFO.

  • radiorick234 May 22, 2009

I have replaced the 4 amp fuse, and tried to power up the set. I now get 4 blinks of the green light, it then goes back to solid red. Nothing seems to happen to the picture. re-checking the fuse, it test good. No sound at all from the relay. Is it poss. the relay has totally burned open? seem to be going backwards.

Still looking for help with my LG plasma tv, model 42pc3d. Original problem the tv kept popping, turning itself on/off. Finally, the 4a fuse has blown, with the fuse out the set has sound, but no picture. Putting the fuse back in the green light blinks 5 times, but will not give sound or pic. Someone has told me to replace the start relay. I need to contact someone that can help me.

    hi,
the ballast are bad. replace this and you will be OK. Ballast Lamp does not have any filament inside like ordinary house lamp.DLP TV Lamp drives through approx 1K volts produced by ballast supply to generate light by spark between electrodes of lamp.
I hope you got original lamp as replacement and it is not aftermarket or compatible lamp.

I think their is blown fuse on ZSUS terminal board and replaced it.....also check for blown fuses on the rest of the boards as well, if there's a blown fuse on any of the bds the power supply will turn itself off if it doesn't sense a load. hope this helps.

I have a LG 42pc3dv with no picture just sound. I have this tv over 3 years, other people experienced the same problem, some of them mentioned the Y sustain board. Is this an easy fix.

Check the fuse on the Z-sustain module. The module all the way to the right (looking from the back) If blown (and before the set went out there was a loud pop) you need to change the IC on the Z-sustain part number STK 795-820 or 821 and the fuse. If you don't want to bother unsoldering and soldering back this part and you know the fuse is blown then replace the Z-sustain module. Do a google, ebay, or shopjimmy.com search with the model number for price and availibility.

LG 42 Plasma try's to turn on but just goes back into "stanby" ?

Check to see if you get Va and Vs voltages from the power supply. There should be some wires running to the y-sus. A couple of those wires will be labeled va and vs. Are they present? There will be a sticker stuck to the panel somewhere telling you what they should be.

LG Plasma 42pc3d turns on, pops, turns off

Its very likely that you need to have LG perform a sodtware upgrade on your unit. Contact LG and see if your tv is one of the applicable units with software upgrade issues, please let me know if it works. Good Luck.

I have a lg 42pc3dv plasma tv. it made a loud pop

Looking at it from the back, the board on the left is the ysus. You should see a big red cable coming from the power supply board in the middle of the set going to the ysus. Near the red cable plug on the ysus should be a fuse. Most likely the fuse has blown. If it is you need a ysus PCB. Check out encompassparts.com. If you get a new board be sure to set all the controls on the new board to match the old board. If you don't you will have little sparkles all over the screen when it comes back on. I hope this helps. You may want to check all fuses on the power supply and the zsus which is on the right side of the set. I have seen both the ysus and zsus be bad together. Good luck and thanks.

Powerboard damaged, if you could not see the Led light on stanby mode it means you have no power at all.
