Question about Video Cameras
I had my Tablet freeze up on me on my Android Logo. I was advised to remove the battery for 1 to 2 minutes and then put it back in. I removed the back of my Tablet and started to remove the tape from the battery very gently. Then one of the wires fell away from the battery and I instantly closed it back up. I want to get my Tablet fixed or replaced. I received this in good faith and I'm very upset. Please let me know if I'm suppost to send it in and how and where. Thank you Loralee Shipley

If you can do the repairs yourself there are two ways to fix the problem. Dismental the camera. Try to locate the power board. have a keen look at the components near the battery connector or the power connector. there you will be able to locate 3 to 4 safety fuses. check the continuty. if found open replace it and the problem can be solved. AND the other way is to locate the motor for tape deck loading mechanism. Remove the flex ribbion connector of the motor from the pcb, then try giving 3volt supply from an external device to the motor in both the direction. in one direction it will move the deck outward, but be carefull when the cassette is being ejected a little portion of the tape may get damaged.

EO1 is a load motor timeout error. This is normally caused when part of the transport is locked or jammed. A defective tape can also cause this error. The mechanism is attempting to move and is not being allowed to for some reason. Repeated attempts at running the camera in this state will cause the fuse to open in the regulator circuit. Have an experienced tech look at this for you. Good luck! Joe Weibel Customelectronics.org

SOURCE: Message reads eject. won't eject
My camera did the exact same thing. I called Canon tech support and they advised to unplug power cord, remove large main battery, and remove smallbackup battery. The small back up battery is under a small door under the main backup battery. With everything disconnected, turn camera to "camera" and then to "vcr" and then to off. Wait a few seconds. Put everything back together and try to eject again. The tech said that resets all the mechanical parts. However, it did not work for me. They now want me to send it to them for a paid repair. I have done some research on the internet and this is a VERY commom problem and it usually costs about $150 to correct via Cannon. Many times the problem occurs again. I am very very frustrated. I pulled my camera out last night to get it ready as my wife is 9months into her pregnancy. Now, I have to send my camera away for 5-9 days. Really really upset.

SOURCE: tape won't load
There are different designs on how this works. One design there is a small pin inside that detects if you have the right tape installed. It has a very small spring which allows it to move back and forth it may have broken with normal use. (it happens) With a small flashlight look very carefully inside. You may or may not be able to see it. It may be located under the alum carrier and hidden. Worth a look. If you find it try to reattach the spring if in fact you see it. But I doubt you can because you need to get goo access to it. In any case, you most likely will need to take it in for repair. The tape carriers for these cameras are fragile and easily damaged. Wish I could give you and easy fix.

SOURCE: Canon GL1 Remove cassette error
I certainly don't intend to be rude or obnotious but your comments on this known prpblem are contraditory to say the least! :
"The problem that you are experiencing with your Canon GL1 camcorder is a common complaint on this model camcorder. The “eject the tape error” is the camcorders way of saying something is wrong and it needs to be sent in for repair. It is not a defect with the camcorder, it is simply the most common complaint when the mechanical assembly is not running smoothly and perfectly." If something is wrong and it's a common problem then it must be defect?!?! Also your pricing for this "repair" is pretty close half of what a used GL goes for over here in Europe. I would definatly be looking for another quote and repair service other than yours!
