Hi, Try these:

  1. Test the lid switch
  2. Inspect the motor coupler
  3. Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  4. Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  5. Test the motor
  6. Inspect the pulley
  7. Test the transmission
  8. Inspect the agitator
  9. Inspect the pump coupling
  10. Test the water level switch

Won't agitate nor spin

Sounds like a faulty transmission. Also, make sure this machine is not sitting in a cold environment. If it is...run a blow dryer under it for awhile and try again. But really I think the transmission is gone.

Washer wont stop filling wont agit

Washers have (dogs), these fit in like a gear.at the bottom of the tub. They are made of plastic and wear out, when this happens the washer won't agitate Usually the center that sits in the tub, at the very top, it will un screw. after getting it off there's a bolt down the center of this tube, You will need a fairly long extension and ratchet for this. re move the screww and the whole agitator will lift out. there will be 3-4 dogs that sit in grooves at the bottom, these lift out easily, take your new ones and insert them the same way, from here reverse what you have done. These parts cost me about $6 and since I replaced them I saved about $65+ in labor.

Lint from washing machine

Fill the tub to the bottom of the agitator with hot water and add 1/2 to 1 gal of white vinager and let it sit for a few hours. Spin out the water and run thru a light load without clothes. When you are running a load lift the lid and observe the clothes movement, The items should be circulating from top to bottom. If they are just wiggling around it is overloaded and the clothes do not have room to move. This wears on the fabric creating lint. The agitator is for the water not the clothes contrary to popular belief. The clothes are actually washed with the water movement not beaten by the agitator.

GE WJSR1070A top loader wont aggitate.

You either have a bad timer, transmission, or the agitator is stripped on the splined shaft

Kenmore wont agitate or spin

The motor has a temperature cutoff. When the motor gets hot it switches off and won't go again till it cools. But something is causing the motor to overheat. Some overload.

  • first thing to check is the lid switch.
  • if the lid switch is bad it will fill up, then agitate then sit there full of water.

Kenmore washer model 110.49722990 it will not go into the drain or spin part of the cycle, just sits there and hums, won't do anything. It will fill with water and wash, but thats all it won't finish the...

Does it fill with "cold" water? Will it spin?Drain? If the machine will fill up with cold water, will the timer advance by itself to finish?Or if you place the timer in spin cycle will it spin?First off if your not getting "Cold" water to fill inside :Replace the water valve (because when the timer stops after the agitation cycle it wont advance because it cant fill up with cold water.
