Power point, means, the power supply regulator section? It will be best to contact the authorized service center for Philips in this case, as availability of the Philips power board is rare in open electronic spare part market. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy.

SOURCE: No picture and No sound

I have the same problem here with my Philips 30PF9946/37

I'm not sure this can be diagnosed as an inverter failure, unless there is a another inverter board in there I'm not aware of. The only inverter I found (actually two) in this unit is the pair of KLS300A1 inverters which drive the CCFL tubes.

Since I personally get a green power and light AND the CCFL backlight comes on, it seems unlikely that the inverters have failed.

Would love to hear from anyone who can ident the failure in these units - there's certainly a LOT of these around that have failed in exactly the same way.

When i switch on the system. on the display its written STARTING..and that's it..its stuck there..please help.

As you have not indicated what make or model of Flat Panel Television you are referring to, I would doubt anyone could help but it is VERY UNLIKELY that your processor is burnt so I would get a second opinion.
It would likely be the processor that makes the word "STARTING" be displayed and if it were burnt, this would not happen.
Also, processors hardly ever go faulty, it is almost always dry or leaky capacitors.

Cost of repair 46 samsung lcd.convergence problem

The cost to repair this problem is about $400-500 depending on local labor rates. With new flat screens as low as $500.00 it doesn't make sense money wise to repair it, this is especially true if the TV is more than 4 years old, flat screens last about 6 years at most before problem s start like burnt out back light bulbs (another $400.00).

My Philips Plamsa won't turn on, has a black screen but the power light is on. There is also a constant clicking noise. Any ideas of what this might be. The tv is a couple of years old.

The picture is White or Black:

1. Adjust picture setting such as brightness or contrast

2. Check the color settings

3. Check to ensure you cable connections are connected properly.

I have the same model and the same problem... I am told the power display board is is the issue and may need to replacing. New board costs around $80,or a bad capacitor depending on your paitence.

This is not cost effective to repair. It would need a new lcd panel to correct this problem.

Screen is dimmed and flashing

It's the #1 plaguing issue with flat panel TVs in all brands. If the red light on the TV is blinking when this happens, It should be an error trouble code.
The most common thing to go out on flat panel TVs is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board. The Backlight Board supplies power to the screen in different sections. With a 47" screen, it maybe divided into 10 to 12 sections. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light blinking codes, circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

If you sure with the problem, try to get the part nunber from the service or the costumer service.
Try to find that part on the net, or a service who repear inverters.
I have a problem like this with my laptop, I bought a part from ebay, and I also have a service phone nunber to fix that inverter localy.

Just get the part nunber and use gogle!
