You need a special wired remote control with the proper connector on it . If it is a USB port you can download updates to the software running the TV.

32 in dynex tv...the sound just went sound but great picture....did this ever happen to anyone else???? if so how did you fix it......i also saw a service port on the back of the tv....any idea...

check your audio amplifier ic for over heating if so then replace it, that is a port of speaker extension, but you can connect any speaker to it if your audio amplifier ic is busted..

Accidently plugged something into the service usb port on my tv. now it does not work at all?????

Just spent over an hour on the phone with Vizio. I did the same thing and they said it fries your service board. Why would they put an input on the back of the tv that fries the damn thing? This sucks!

My plasma tv screen went all green last night and hasn't come back what's going on?

Before you do anything about your boards, check the video input connectors and TV ports. Make sure the connectors are good and the TV port is clean. Dust or dirt may come between the pins and distort the video.
If it is ensured that connectors are OK and the port is clean, the unit needs to be serviced as the X Boards, which delivers color information to the panel through the TCPs, or the Z SUS Board, which resets or refreshes the screen, maybe malfunctioning. In this case the unit must be aligned, that is, the voltages must be adjusted to appropriate values as indicated on the panel.

Usb port how do you use it

By service port they mean a device hookup that a tech can use to diagnose problems with your TV. There is no practical use for you to plug into it. If you want to display your laptop on the TV you need yo hookup the video out from your laptop to the TV's PC/RGB input.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Connecting to a P.C

It it really has 11 pins I'm not sure but then my guess is that this is the service port connector which normally should have 9 pins. A vga connector has 15 pins and LG (as far as I know) uses standard 9 pin serial ports for service and plain old dvi or vga ports for connecting a computer.

Please visit Hardware Book for more info on connectors and cables.
