The problem is likely one of two things: 1) something is covering the speaker holes, or there is debris in the holes or 2) you have a bad speaker.

FYI: This radio is a repairable version of the TalkAbout closely related to the business model CP100. You can send it to a repair facility to have it repaired. (Typically around $69) You can google CP100 repair to find a Motorola shop capable of the repair, if needed.

We have 6 Mag one BPR40 radio's all of a sudden you can't hear anything in the ear pieces.

Very strange! Assuming no programming has changed: check that all earpieces are tight into the radio. Unplug, check for audio without an earpiece and replug into radio. Make certain your batteries are FRESH (less than 1 year old) and fully charged. I am assuming you are using earpieces approved for the Motorola radio. Many speakers do not work and several earpieces are not designed well. Stay away from the auction site cheap ones. You get what you pay for, including failures. For several audio jacks to fail at once would be very unusual. Try a new earpiece. I suspect earpiece failure more than anything. All tests after this require checking programming and/or taking the radio apart.

My motorola sp50 will not turn on

It is possible you have a bad volume pot (potentiometer). You might try turning on the radio slightly differently, such as turning the volume up 1/2 way or all the way. Sometimes these just develop a dead spot. Also, you might check the battery contacts in the radio. These can be cleaned with a pencil eraser, and so can the contacts on the battery itself. Be sure the contacts are resting properly against the contacts on the battery. While there are a variety of reasons a radio might not turn on with a fully charged battery these are the most common.

Best regards.

Changed the battery in my 2-Way Radio CLS1110 and it will turn on but when you push talk it goes off

The battery is bad or not charged. Check your charger and charger/battery connection. Clean all contacts with a pencil eraser and try charging again. With a new battery it may take up to 3 charge cycles to fully charge your battery.

Best regards.

Typically this would indicate a battery problem. Try swapping batteries with a known good unit. If the radio still shuts off when the PTT is pressed you have a radio problem. If it works fine, then you know your battery, despite showing fully charged, is bad.

When pushing the push to talk button either on the radio or the headset cord I get a loud beep over the speaker and the radio won't transmit. I have replaced batteries, reprogramed unit still no fix. Any...

Two thoughts, I know you've replaced the batteries, but this can be a sign of a low, bad or weak battery. You might check your charger to see that the light is coming on and staying on during charging. Also, be certain the radio is shut off during charging.

Secondly, be certain when using any audio device the radio is shut off when plugging in the audio device. And the device is designed to go with the radio you are using it with.

Troubleshooting thoughts: 1) Try a battery directly out of a working radio to see if the problem stops. If the problem persists, you have a radio or device problem. 2) Try the radio without the audio device, with a known good battery. If you still have a problem, you have a radio problem. 3) Try your audio device on a known good radio. If there is no problem, your audio accessory is okay.

Best regards.

Repeater channels

Are you certain you are near a GMRS repeater in your area? If you have your radios set for the GMRS repeater channels the radios will not talk to one another unless you are in close proximity of a GMRS repeater. To talk radio-to-radio you would need to set your radio to one of the simplex frequencies available in the radio.

If you know you are close to a GMRS repeater, you might double check the Tx and Rx frequencies of the repeater to be certain they match the settings in your radio. Also, you will need to be certain your interference code is set to zero (the off position) to be used with the repeater. I didn't read up on the T7200, but if it has a Qt filter, set it to zero also.

Dangers of a Motorola being left on when charging in a multilpe

Don't know if you'd call it dangerous, but wisedom would be not to leave a radio turned on while on the charger. 1) Shortened battery life due to short charging. The battery will never be fully charged due to powering the radio. 2) Inadvertently pressing the PTT button while the radio on the charger can/will burn out components in the radio including the PA (final amp) which is a costly repair.

Instead of leaving the radio turned on while on the charger, buy a second battery to keep on the charger. Then you only need to swap batteries. Your radio would be able to remain on, and never be on the charger.

I'm assuming you're using the NiCd batteries. NiCd batteries do not last forever and need to be replaced when they show a resistance to beign charged. To optimize the life of these batteries you need to let them fully discharge before attempting to charge them. This is impractical most of the time.

You have two choices:
1. Purchase a NiMH charger and AA batteries and use that INSTEAD of the CHARGER STAND and NiCd batteries. This type of battery can be recharged without the problems discussed earlier and will last longer... or
2. Purchase another NiCd battery pack.
