Question about HP PSC 1610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP PSC 1610 All-in-one with message to check the Color print cartridge

I had this 1 and half year old HP PSC 1610 printer and it was working perfectly alright until yesterday. When I turned it on and it keep showing up a message to urge me to check the Color Print Cartridge. I seldom use color print (only use occasionally). So far I had only changed the B&W cartridge once. I look up the online help (and also the user manual) to follow what it suggested to do. I.e. take it out and check the copper-colored contacts, ink nozzles to see if there are clogged-up ink or debris etc. Apparently I don't see any and I also look closely the copper-colored contacts on the printer compartment side and I don't notice anything visually. Nonetheless, I tried to clean it according to the ONLINE HELP. But of NO use at all. I'm not sure if I should invest in buying a new Color ink cartridge and try installing it to see if it work. By the way the old Color cartridge is still quite full and with an expiry date of 2008 Feb.

 

I don't know if it is worth spending money (to get the new Color cartridge) on something that I'm not sure it is the real cause.

 

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, any help will be much appreciated.

    When I installed a new cartridge, the message "Used color cartridge installed, remove ann check cartridge" same message for the other cartridge. These are not "used" cartridges. The black one is the one I had been using.

    Same problem and cleaning and replacing the cartridges didn't help at all.

    I install a HP PSC 1610 All-in-one. It will not print at all. I receives the data from the computer but it still does not print. This is what it says; no connection turn on or connect computer. Install/run device software.

    My printer was working perfectly and then the message, "Remove and check color cartridges," popped up and checking it, cleaning it . . . has not helped.   I don't believe that the color cartridge is empty and people with the same problem have said that replacing the cartridge does not help.  What should I do?

Theres a pretty sure bet when the fuel light comes on in your car, fuel will fix it,

 

its a bit like that these cartridges fixs most things expesally if you have never changed it in a year and a half,

 

Exp date is shelf life,

 

End life of cart. is out of ink or error,

 

Machine uses colour ink when cleaning regardless if you use it or not that just uses more

 

With all that being said I've also had these with cartridge housing problems causing the fault vay rarely

 

And then if you look at prices of new inkjets with a years warranty and new inks against the just the price of both your inks then I think you may Buy another.!

 

If you get 3 years out of a inkjet your doin extremly well, machines dont last and arnt meant too!

 

If you rarely do colour I would tell you to look at a B/W Laser printer instead, inkjets are expensive to run, cheap to buy fail a lot

 

Laser machines run so so so much cheaper like 2cent compared to 20c a sheet, they are reliable, if you really need a colour print go to print shop and receive reletavely cheap quality colour prints or use a friends and let them have the problem of supporting an inkjet.

 

Laser toner based machines are now as cheap as inkjets but better except they dont do colour.

When I try printing from our printer it tells me to check colour ink cartridge, I take it out an re-insert it. Then the printer tells me to align the printer paper press start. I do that and then it starts...


I had the same problem on mu HP 1200 series all in one printer; I have two of the same printers.

I couldn't believe that the ink cartridge was the problem because BOTH cartridges, black and color were fairly new and giving good copy results;

Finally after taking the printer apart, checking transformer and gears, and cleaning up the cartridge faces... STILL the same problem;
I replaced the both black AND color cartridge with a brand new one, and it worked perfectly.
So now I am stuck with 2 cartridges, half-used, that the printer will not accept.

Display says "Remove and check right cartridge", but even replacing the right cartridge with a new one does not fix the problem, and the printer will not function.


This HP PSC 1610 all in one - scan / fax / copier *** printer, normally the cartridges inserting
locations might have caused some issue. When you install the genuine catridge and getting the
error. Might be the catridge inserter might be replaced with local hardware engineer is the best solution. Moreover this type of printers are HP itlsef is giving the maximum life of 3 years only as printer life time.

In our office we are using HP PSC 1110 - 4-in-1 printer and it is having the same problem, but when the message displayed, we will just say OK and it will automatically print the necessary pages.

HP PSC 1610. Error message : Remove and check color cartridge. I have done this, cleaned the printer, nothing has worked. I can not even print in black and white.


Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Hp psc 1610 printer ... error message alternates between carriage jam and out of paper


i cleaned the clear file strip behind the carriage by rubbing it between my fingers and my printer started working again. before that i had paper jam and carriage jam and it wouldn't do any printing or copying.

Printer: Ink problem


this is most likely the color ink cartrige , and it is clogging up
try to use the cleaning process to clean it
but you could also dab it with cd cleaning solution or INK REFILL sets have some ink cleaning solution included( if your going to do that)

Remove and check color cartridge


I cleaned mine with alcohol and Q-tip and then shook it 25 times to insure that the ink was penetrating the application lines. My hunch is it first got dirty, and then dried up on the exterior prevent additional ink from leaving the cartridge.
