Question about GE WBVH6240F Front Load Washer

1 Answer

GE WBVH6240FWW front loader makes a lot of noise when washing. Tub looks like it is crooked. It still washes, just sounds horrible. Any ideas?

Also noted that it leaked with the last load.

Could be the dampers are broken or loose also could be a spring has come of the top of the tub.

Check the big rubber seal around the door for any holes or tears. Had the same problem, my husband had a screw in his pocket that torn a hole in the gasket.

SOURCE: GE Profile front loader washing machine is leaking

Hello, this is usually the door seal, most machine incorporate a one piece combined door seal and outer drum seal(often just called a DOOR GASKET), the door seal are put in on the front panel first in the factory, then the drum assembly is put in and the seal pushed over the outer drum. This means a lot of stripping down has to be done just to replace the drum to the door seal.
Thanks

I have a top load GE model #WBB4500G, and our clothes comes out smelly. It is horrible. We are constantly having to rewash clothes, this is rediculous. I've heard of this problem with front loaders, but we...

You have an inner and an outer tub. The outer tub may be holding too much water. The smell may be the soured water in the outer tub. You should take the washer outside and drain it completely. Then replace the drain hose before you put it back inside. Hopefully, this will slove your problem.

Makes a lot of noise while spinning.

FIrst look for something between the inner and outer tub, like a screw nail or bobby pin.

It could also be a tub bearing.

is it a front loader, or top loader. How old, make, model?

need more info

then feel free to ask more questions.

Noise when agitating

if it is whirlpool then skid plate could be out of place. Ge has a total different suspension system. black rubber could be the strap that restricts movement - 4 that attach from frame to tub ring.
