Question about Linksys RangePlus WRT100 Wireless Router
I can connect to the internet with my desktop thru the wrt100. However, when I try to use the wireless connection with my laptop, the laptop tries to connect to the internet, but never does. When I'm less than 3 ft. from the router, my laptop says the signal is low. When I'm more than 3 ft. away, my laptop says no signal. I was told that my laptop is slow because I need drivers. Why didn't the drivers come with the software for the wrt100?
What is your laptop name, model#?
All "wireless" laptops have software that can "scan" for , and "repair" wireless connections. Bottom right corner, do you have a pix [picture] of a monitor ( with what looks like a 'radar' signal coming out ? ) right click mouse and you should see a menu, left mouse click " repair " and follow directions.
that you loose the signal after 3 ft. could suggest that your antenna is not connected right, that the coil ( that makes up the antenna ) is 'opened' or that you did not configure the wireless part of the router.
