How do I seperate my dyson DC 24 for cleaning

Hi there,

To separate the clear bin from the cyclone pack, remove the bin from the machine and open the base as if you were emptying it. You can then separate the clear bin and cyclone pack using the silver catch on the rear of the cyclone pack.

You can wash the clear bin by rinsing it with cold water - always ensure it's totally dry before replacing it.

Dirt can be removed from the cyclone assembly using a soft brush or dusting cloth, but never attempt to wash this part or submerge it in water, as this could damage to the machine.

I hope this information is useful to you - if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

I am not sure of the part name but on the bottom there is a brush/sweeper that should turn and mine no longer turns.

The beater bar is either jammed with string or threads inbetween the housing or the belt inside of it is off or broke.Turn the beater bar upside down, remove the screws and seperate the housing. Please let me knowif this helps or if you need further assistance

Rainbow e series

It could if the separator is binding, or dragging, when it turns, causing the motor to over heat, that maybe what you are smelling. If it is, then replace the separator.
