We had the same problem. It would beep three times then shut off.
The lens was stuck in the out position. My son played with it until it loosened up and it works now. It had nothing to do with batteries.
If yours is stuck out. twist and push until it goes back in.
Good luck

Shutter button does nothing when pressed halfway, will not focus automatically. It doesn't make the beeping noise, no green box, nothing happens! I can press it all the way and take a picture, but t

Please check if yu did set the camera in AF mode continuous. In that mode, the camera is focusing on whatever is aimed at. Even when the shutter button is not pressed, allowing you to shoot without missing opportunities.
The mode where you see the camera focus when the button is pressed half way, is called single. This setting will conserve battery power.
Look in the manual under Switching between Focus Settings. I can't tell you war page that is for your camera, in mine it is page 100.
On the last pages in the book are all settings for each shooting mode.

My sony camera dosn't work and i can't see anything just black screen

of course you need to check first, is it completely black screen. could be that its not even turning on.lucky if lets say beep feature was set to on . check if you press any buttons, is there any beeping sound. try to even press the playback and check if any icons will appear.or press the lcd button repeatedly and check if something will happen . if not , do power reset. take out the battery and hold the power button for 30sec. its like refreshing the memory of camera.. if still same thing. try changing batteries. camera also turns on by pressing playback button. if all ts fails, camera needs service. could be something wrong with its sensor.

I have a brand new nikon coolpix s3000. it's on full-time auto focus. Any ideas?

You can change this in the menu while in shooting mode. This is from page 48 of the manual:

Choose how the camera focuses.

A (auto) M d (Shooting menu) M I Autofocus mode

A Single AF (default setting)

The camera focuses when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.

B Full-time AF

The camera focuses continuously until the shutter-release button is pressed down

halfway. Use with moving subjects. The sound of lens drive movement will be heard

while the camera focuses.

Ive bought the camera M530 yesterday and it makes a ticking sound when switched on as if it is something to do with the smart capture. Should I be worried that something is wrong with the camera or is just...

Just purchased the M530 for my daughter for her Bday. Noticed the same soft ticking sound when the camera is turned on. And yes, I agree with other posts that this is annoying. The noise is probably coming from the fact that the camera is set to Continuous AF (auto-focus) mode. Here's the solution: STEP 1 - Press menu button (should take you to Capture screen). STEP 2 - Using the down-arrow button to scroll down to AF Control (Still). STEP 3 - Using the right-arrow button select Single AF. STEP 4 - Press OK button. Another screen will come up with the radio button selected on Single AF. Ticking sound should be gone by this point. STEP 5 - Press Mode button. STEP 6 - Select shooting mode (Smart Capture, Video, etc.) and Press OK button. Good Luck.

First, you need to have an SD card installed; the 8025 will not record video to internal memory. Second, be aware that the 8025 will not record any sound to accompany the video.

Press the Home button to bring up the main menu. Select Movie Mode (movie camera icon). Press the shutter button to begin shooting. Press the shutter button to stop shooting and save the file.

If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

My Polaroid camera i631 won't turn on!!

Here is the solution for your problem. If you look at your camera at an angle, you will see the zoom lens is little bent to the side. I want you to put press on it to snap-it into it's place. After you heard a click, then turn-on your camera. This will fix your cam.

Camera turns off after lens comes out in shooting mode.

I'd recommend that you stop banging or fiddling with the lens as it does not sound like a lens error (if it were so, you'd still get an error even in review mode). Instead it sounds like the brand of batteries that you're using may not be providing sufficient power.

Alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pics in a digital camera. Some may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. Most retailers sells these for around $7 for a package of four (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

Poor picture quality

I heard of problems with the focus on this model when in landscape mode. It's being related to a firmware problem. Are you shooting in landscape mode perhaps? In any case, this model is not very famous for taking sharp pictures, ans as far as I know got discontinued pretty fast. Kodak also won't repair it, just offer you a replacement. I also heard that the camera gets focus problems from opening up while in the case - a design flaw makes the power button easy to press while its closed in a case, after a while it damages the lens. This is the only problem that I heard Kodak are willing to fix out of warranty, if you press them hard enough. Hope you find a solution, good luck ;]
