Question about Sony VAIO VPCY216FX/B I3-330UM 1.2G PC Notebook
Passwoad? Please detail what it is you are having a problem with? BIOs do not use passwords...only an Administrator who installed the operating system would have privileges to enter the system; or a password that you installed when setting up Windows. Simply state what problem you are having, OK!

The best way for the Sony is to remove the cmos battery for at least 30 minutes. Remove the main laptop battery and leave it out. Make sure the power adapter is not attached. The cmos battery can be reached after removing the keyboard and is attached to the motherboard vis a small cable. If you have a "jumper" that come equipped on hard drives to jump the pins on the back, you can "short" the pin connections on the cmos battery socket, power the laptop up using the ac adapter and letting the computer go through the bootup process. When this happens power the laptop back down, take the jumper off and replace the cmos battery. Power back on with just the ac adapter and boot the computer. If the laptop still askes for a bios password just hit enter and it should allow you to log in. Once in go into the bios and reset the date and time. Once that is done power down and replace the main battery. Reboot the laptop and let Windows load.
