Will a msi kt4v motherboard work in a gateway gt4016 desktop

The Gateway GT4016 is a 6-Bay Micro uBTX Case and the MSI KT4V is a ATX motherboard. Therefore the Motherboard will NOT fit in the gateway Case.

Asus Motherboard?!?

Not that I'm aware of. The Gateway restore package is proprietary (Like Dell and HP) and you can't just pop in a new MOBO and expect the package to load. Best to call gateway and ask.

Ram

Part Number: 2511451 Intel (Fedora) motherboard Pentium III - 667-MHz

The motherboard will support a minimum memory size of 16-megabyte (MB) and a maximum of 512-MB. The BIOS automatically detects memory type, size, and speed. The memory type, size, and speed can vary between the sockets. The memory modules do not have to be installed in a certain order or in a specific socket. Bank 0 or the DIMM1 slot is located toward the rear of the motherboard.

Gateway Support Document for your motherboard:
http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/INTEL/2511451/2511451nv.shtml
http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/INTEL/2511451/251145101.shtml
http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/INTEL/2508226/250822604.shtml

Note: The individual part number for this motherboard is 4000684. This number helps technicians locate the motherboard in the CRM. Some invoices list the motherboard separately and not as part of the sub-assembly, which includes the motherboard and processor. You cannot use the individual part number to replace this motherboard. Use the sub-assembly number at the top of this page.

Note: Before adding, removing, or reseating any hardware, verify that the computer is unplugged. Then, either wait 30 seconds or press the power button to discharge the motherboard. The motherboard maintains power even after the computer is turned off.

A bios update is available for your system here:
http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?st=pn&param=2511451
This may, or may not, correct your problem.

Available on the Web at www.gateway.com/support are the following: technical support for Gateway products, live chat with a Gateway Trusted Guide, files for downloading, and e-mail support. Additional technical support can be obtained using Fax on Demand system at (800) 846-4526 and Automated Troubleshooting System at (800) 846-2118.

Google motherboards. XD

Looks like your motherboard is actually pretty good. What do you need to replace it for?

Here's a good website: http://www.tigerdirect.com/
Click motherboards or motherboards with cpu included.
Another website, http://reviews.cnet.com/4566-3049_7-0.html?tag=dir gives you a list of motherboards and where to buy them.
Usually, motherboards under $100 are old or cheap.

If you need an exact copy of the one in your GT4022
this is your motherboard on gateway.com: http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/FIC/4006105R/4006105Rnv.shtml
just google that motherboard and you should be able to find an exact copy to buy.
