You must check you remote control and make sure you are using the right setting on it for use with the television. Did you you have to change anything on the remote to use the dvd player. If you did then, you must reset the remote for use with the television. This includes any surround sound receivers you may be using for the sound system. Look in your owners manual for the correct set-up and see if you are using it. If this does not solve your problem, you can can call TruTech customer support at these telephone numbers . !-888-252-6252 and 1-800-252-6123. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

SOURCE: No audio when watching TV but do have audio when watching a DVD

To start unplug the tv from main for one hour or so, this will drain power and reset setting to factory, solving the problem if this is caused by incorrect TV audio settings.

If you use an external receiver to watch the TV, then the problem is either the connection cable to the receiver or a bad signal (input) board.

If instead you have the problem when the unit is set to the internal TV tuner, then responsible for the fault can be a faulty tuner board, or a faulty signal board, as the audio board inside this TV process in the same way if signal is coming from built in tuner or external device.

Rca model rtd3266 won't produce aux audio through the tv even though we have hooked up the red and white cables. It only playes the surround sound when you watch the dvd.

I believe you have misunderstood something. The audio output from your TV is stereo. Your RCA system produces surround output from your TVs stereo input.

Have alot of buzzing noise when we play a DVD but not when watching tv.

Verify the AUDIO cables from the DVD player to the TV they could be defective (even if new)
push the PLUGES firmly so they are correctly seated, play with (shake/move) the AUDIO cables while playing a DVD to see if it's not a loose connection

Cheers!

I have sound when playing a dvd but not when the

It would be the rare TV that originated anything approaching the sound quality of any other audio
source in your home or could process digital multichannel audio anywhere near as well as the
Yamaha. What model TV did you say this was and how is the audio from it getting into the Yamaha?

If you have an RCA audio pair going from it to the Yamaha that would provide the bare minumum quality stereo-only analog audio that the TV is processing. Its internal audio controls could be part of the problem of why the Yamaha can't "hear" it..

TV-related audio is best derived from as close to its source as possible. Your cable, satellite DVD, BD all have superior digital multichannel audio outputs. Why would you want to filter them through the TV first?

Those sources may also have HDMI which would be great for the TV and the receiver; they also have
standard RCA stereo outputs, each of which could be suitable to run to the TV's RCA inputs if you only want to watch news or weather with lo-fi sound.

Bottom line recommendation: BEST video to the TV; best audio to the Yamaha. Turn the TV speakers off unless you want to watch the news. Then turn the Yamaha off and save some on the electricity.

Problem getting home theatre sytem to play audio when watching tv

you need the red and white audio cable hooked into the AUDIO OUT connectors on the tv and the other end of the red and white cables into the AUDIO IN in tv to the media center (main Bose unit).....If your tv does not provide AUDIO OUT connectors, you cannot connect the tv audio to the 3-2-1 system. Continue using your tv speakers for sound.

Can't get my dvd/vcr to tape and play back

Color codes for A/V cables:

Yellow: Composite Video
Red: Right Audio Channel
White: Left Audio Channel (mono)

Does your TV have a video & audio OUTPUT on the back of the TV?

If so, will need another set of audio/video cables and you need to connect the yellow cable from the video OUTPUT of the TV to the video INPUT (yellow) of the DVD/VCR and connect the Red cable from the right OUTPUT of the TV to the red INPUT of the DVD/VCR. Then connect the white cable from the left OUTPUT of the TV to the white INPUT of the DVD/VCR. If your TV is not in stereo, just connect up the white cable for mono audio.

If your TV set does NOT have audio/video OUTPUTS, then you will still need another set of audio/video cables and connect the yellow cable from the video OUTPUT of the cable box to the yellow video INPUT of the DVD/VCR and connect either the red or white (or both if possible) to the red or white audio INPUTS of the DVD/VCR.

You need two sets of cables because you want to watch DVD's & tapes on your TV (Path #1) and you want to record the TV channel shows back to your DVD/VCR (Path #2).

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good Luck!
