Shelves not wide enough to stay on shelve supports

In the back right hand side of freezer there is a gap in the panels. This causes the shelves to not be wide enough to touch the shelve holders and fall through. How do you solve this issue?

Why is condensation in fridge?

Good afternoon friend, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator has moisture forming underneath the bottom panel of your freezer and that is causing water to drip onto your shelves. Would you be able to provide me with your model number that way I could research additional information for you please? You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside cabinet of the fresh food compartment normally on the left side of a top mount. On a side by side it can be found on the right hand side. I look forward to your response. -Matt

GSS25LGMCC Side-by-Side. On left freezer side, foam filled walls have contracted and top two wire shelves can no longer rest of molded side supports and fall. Need shelves about 1/2" wider

never heard of that happening, are you sure you're not missing a support that the shelf slides on or you have the wrong shelf for that spot.i'm sure you tried the shelves in all the slots,if the wall did push out like you say the only thing i can suggest is to buy another support and get longer screws and put the screw through both supports and hang them like a single support to make up the difference.next what caused this to happen,is the freezer staying cold?if you give a parts store your model number they will sell you the same shelves that you have.

Top 2 shelves not freezing

the air leaking into your freezer has caused your evaporator to overice, restricting airflow/fan blade from circulating the cold air.. the unit is now working under gravity where the cold air produce falls pushing the warmer air to the top hence the defrosting of upper shelves... the only solution for starters would be to shut the appliance down for 48hrs minimum so that it can defrost itself manually. Unless you could get a pro to remove the back panel do it. I say a pro as there are sensors and thermal fuses behind it and being temperature dependant can be ruined if not done right plus defrost heater could be tested a another possible cause...

GE side by side freezer shelves falling down

This appears to be a known problem with at least a couple of GE models (It has been happening in our freezer too). There is a GE Service bulletin at https://customernet.geappliances.com/OTIS/fs/home_images/REF01-10.pdf that seems to describe the fix as them sending out new shelves (and maybe someone to install them?)

Shelves not saying in grommets. This happens will

I have exactly the same problem and it is mostly because of the cheap plastic support brackets. I'd like someone to to offer a cheap way to "rig" it so it will support the weight of the shelves when full. Glad tyo know I am not the only one.

Freezer Shelves are too small for freezer and keep falling when I put food on them...

I did the tubing solution others mentionedand it worked great.. instead of the 1/2" OD 1/4" ID reinforced tubing. I bought Polyethylene tubing at 3/8" OD, 1/4" ID.

Cut the tubing into lengths that will fit between the rails, split with a utility knife down the whole length. Use a screw driver to force open the end and slip the tubing over the rail.

Pic attached shows the tubing cut along side and forced on to the rail along with a pic of the tag that was on the tubing in an inset. I bought a 25' roll because i was in a hurry and not paying attention. I did 2 shelves, needed something under 1' per side per shelf. so I used 4' total for the whole project.

Freezer Shelves are too small for freezer and keep falling when I put food on them...

I had the same problem with the freezer sheles being too small in my GE Profile side by side. The shelves would simply collapse down with any weight on them.
After measurng the gap, I determined that the shelves were approximately 7/16" too narrow.
The fix I did was simple, effective, and very cheap.
I bought a roll of clear flexible polyethylene tubing at Lowes for about $5.The tubing is 3/8" outer diameter, 1/4" inner diameter (see picture below).
I cut pieces to fit along the side rails of the shelf, and then sliced the tube pieces down their length with a utility knife. I wrapped the pieces around the outside rails on each side of the shelf. It took a little work, but I got the tube pieces attached.
In a few spots, I did a double wrap of tubing.
The shelves fit tightly now and can hold significant weight without collapsing. Plus, they don't look too bad.
I hope GE fixes this simple problem in the future.
