When turning it on it won't open up

If your device will not open, then what you have to do is to reset the device. To reset the device, what you need to do is to hold the power on/off button for about 15 seconds, the device will restart, and then it will go back to the way it was before it started turning on without opening up. If that does not do the job, then it means, you have to connect your device to a computer, then you will back up your files and format the device and restore your files back onto the device. That should do the job for you.

Hope this information helped.

Sometime the card says the device error but there is another way to access or open that device. Some cause of the device are not properly remove during the last session use. To open that device you can go to my computer. When you are now in my computer their is a address bar the you can see the arrow left side of the address bar you need to click and look for the device you need to open. Now it will go directly to the device. Good luck

Hope it is helpful for you

Cant get any sound on my aspire5920

- Open the Control Panel
- Open Sounds and Audio Devices
- Open Hardware

Look for a device with some name and model number with 'Audio' behind it.
This will be the maker of the sound hardware.

Close the two latter functions and open System
- Open Hardware
- Open Device Manager
- Locate Sound, video and game controllers and open
- Locate the name you found previously
- Highlight and delete ( or uninstall) it

Restart your PC.

This should force Windows to recognize it again and look for and hopefully find the device drivers for it.

It is possible that as often happens, Windows just shot (corrupted) the device driver for the heck of it.

If this doesn't work, you need to run an online scan of your system or run your current AV program to see if something is tinkering with your sound facilities.

Mic dont work

luis_antonio, did you try to set your mic up from within windows?
Do this, open control panel, than open sound and audio devices. Click on the voice tab, click on the test hardware button.
Follow the on-screen instructions. Do you have mic?
There is no direct connection to the board. There is a connection for a front mounted case sound & mic connector if your case has this feature but chances are if your mic does not work connected to the rear of the board it will also not work with the front connector/jack.
Let’s check two other places first. While having opened the sound and audio devices window, click once again on the Voice tab if not already opened. Notice the Default device, (the name of the device). Click the Audio tab listed there is a Default device, (name of device). They should be named the same. Click cancel to close that window. Than open the system icon. System Properties will open. Click the hardware tab, than click the device manager button. Scroll down the list to Sound, video and game controller. Click the + sign & all the audio devices will open for you to see. Do you see a yellow ! point? If yes your sound device software needs to be re-installed. If no & you see a device named ADI AD1986A SoundMAX or AC97, than your current sound device is setup correctly. This device name above should match what you saw while in control panel's sound and audio devices. If after doing another reinstall & running the setup for mic through windows control panel still fails than the integrated sound chip on the motherboard is defective. If your board is under Asus three year warranty, return for a replacement board. If your warranty has timed out, than buy a PCI sound card & install onto a opened PCI slot.

Good Luck!
