I cannot upload pictures/ videos from my PNY 8GB memory stick.
Hi, I have purchased a PNY 8GB memory card for my camera and I have recorded videos and would like to put them on to my computer. When I put the memory card in my computer, nothing happens and I cannot upload the videos/ pictures.

Re: I cannot upload pictures/ videos from my PNY 8GB...
The newer large capacity cards in cameras designed for smaller capacity cards seem to have trouble interfacing with our computers. The best best is to get a high speed firewire memory card reader and attach it directly to your computer. This should allow your computer to recognize your card and also allow you quicker downloads.

It could be that the devices into which you inserted the SD card are not designed to accept SD cards of that type.
There are 3 SD card types: SD, SDHC and SDXC. If the SD card size is 4GB to 32GB, the type is SDHC, and if the card is larger than 32GB, it is an SDXC type.
Newer devices will accept SDHC and SDXC cards, but older devices may not be able to read those SD card types. You should be able to check the specifications of the devices you are using by looking on the device manufacturer's web site.
My Sanyo camera says my sd card it full when it absolutely is not. Ive even tried uploading pictures to my computer and it tells me there is an issue. It just suddenly did this one day and I think I've lost about 150 photos from Easter and other things that I can't get back and worse I can't take any pictures with my camera now.
This is a feature and not a defect of the CX-12 that reminds the user that the memory stick inserted might not be able to record the data from the camera effectively. HD video requires a memory stick with a relatively fast data read/write speed, and the CX-12 recommends not using any other stick that is not Mark 2.
Fortunately, though, as you have found out, it does not affect the camera's ability to record in non-Mark 2 sticks.
Hope this helps!
I had a literally terrifying experience with Aiptek customer service.
I called up Aiptek to ask if it was possible to get my memory cards working. I have two 4GB SDHC PNY cards, which th ekid at target reccomended after loking at the back of the box.
I was told by aiptek tech support that PNY cards will not work in the A-HD camera.
When I mentioned that the box says it will take cards up to 32GB, and asked him if this was not false advertising. The representative became irate and started insulting me, using valgure language, and calling me a liar.
At this point I had enough of his abuse and yelled at him F.U!
What happened next is Truly Absurd and Outrageous!
The man behind the telephone at Aiptek told me he was going to send 5 guys to my house to assult me and my fammily!
THIS IS NO JOKE!
