Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
When I removed my white laundry from the washer it had small black spots on all over it. I re-washed them 3 times with triple bleach, I soaked the items in bleach water for 3-4 hours, and after that didn't work, I soaked the items in salt. All to no avail. I'm afraid to use my washer for fear the spots will appear on all the laundry. My washer is about 10-14 years old. Kennmore model #110.82874120 (10 amps/60 Hz/120 volts/stock# 28741). Could it be the deterioration of the inside of the black rubber-like hose that brings the water in and out of the washer? I'm baffled and frustrated. Could you please help?
I must say that aftger 10-14 years its time to let the old girl go,

Is the washer noisey when spinning? If so its probable that the main bearings are worn, & losing the original grease into the wash tub. At 10-14 yrs old its probably not woth fixing (assuming parts are still available)

your problem may be because you generally use a 'cool' wash ie 30' or 40' Try a really HOT programme or two to see if this will remove the deposits that have built up What happens is that quite a lot of 'undisolved powder' tends to congregate inside the machine because of 'low temperature washes' Its a good idea now & then to use CALGON or some other descaling agent.
Mr CALGON please note my plug but it is good
