Question about Lexmark T634n Laser Printer

1 Answer

Jams, no print

Lexmark T634 will jam in redrive. There is no image on drum or paper, and the fuser only gets warm, not hot. Fuser swapped to another printer and works fine there. Thinking one of the power supplies but not sure which one. Or is the system board a possible cause.

Remove the redrive and try to print again. The unit does not need
a redrive installed to print and it's an easy test to perform.
Let me know the results of this and we can continue.

Paper jam 1

The problem may lie in the fuser or imaging drum; there may still be small pieces of paper jammed in them or any where else along the paper feed roller/trail. If you do remove the fuser or any of the other consumables, make sure the printer is turned off and the power cord removed at the outlet (receptacle). Allow the fuser enough time to cool down. Serious burns (1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns) can occur- the fuser gets extremely hot.

Should you need to remove the imaging drum to inspect it for any more tiny pieces of torn paper, do it in a very dimly lit room; use a black plastic garbage bag to store it in. If the imaging drum is exposed to direct light, especially sunlight- you will damage it completely, or possibly shorten the life of it; very expensive to replace.

If there is serious damage other than what I covered and it is going to cost more than half or 2/3rds of what the printer is worth, you're best option is to buy a new one; and dismantle the damaged printer for its precious metals- you can get some money back at the scrap metal yard for the gold, copper, steel, and aluminum; and recycle the plastic parts for $$ too, if available in your area.

Error code 201 lexmark t630

201 is a paer jam message generated by the fuser (hot thing in the back of printer) remove rear door and the redrive unit. ( two screws on back of printer and press in two levers on upper portion of back to remove) either the switch on the left of the fuser is stuck or the switchneeds replacing (assuming it is a false paper jam)

22 Paper Jam Lexmark OptraLx+

Check the rear of the printer, there is a flip down panel that exposes the fuser exit and redrive assbly (delivers the paper to the exit rollers). The paper sensors are little black plastic flags that swing in and out of optical sensors.

Paper is jammed in printer under the heating element and I can't get it out

remove the back cover, 2 screws holding the redrive (back) assembly.
You will have access to the fuser, again held with 2 screws. Disconnect cables going to the fuser, remove and clear paper. Examine the surface of the rollers, bottom has rubber surface. If surface is showing ripples in the rubber, you may need to replace it to prevent further jams.

Hi, my lexmark T640 is saying 202.06 paper jam, check rear door. i have opened it and there is no jam, there is no paper anywhere and have pulled all the trays out and there is no jam. what do you suggest?

This jam is refering to back door, jam in fuser (hot bit) Double check no paper is wraped around fuser rollers.

These machines have a fuser at rear if you look at he fuser from the back, on it you will see, two thick fuser rollers (ones rubber), paper runs threw these then it hits a little black switch (your machine thinks this switch is activated) and then a series(3,4) of small rubber exit rollers, this switch (between middle and left) can get damaged it also likely that a piece of paper is concertinaed in fuser.

My paper jams up and crinkles when it gets under the ink cartrige the machine says remove cartridge, I do, I take out the jammed paper click go and it does it again. It printed up to page 45 of 50 and now...

Kindly check the Maint Count in the Configuration Menu by turning off the printer, then pressing and holding the Select and the Return buttons while turning on the printer. Select Maint Count Value. If it reached 300,000, maintenance kit should be replaced. If it's below 300,000, fuser and redrive may need to be replaced.

Paper Jam

If you are getting a lot of jams in the fuser then there is a problem in the fuser unit !
Is it jamming like an accordion? if Yes, then the problem is w/ the little fingers in the fuser, they are worn and need to be replaced. The rollers in the fuser should be shiny and smooth if not they ca also cause jams.
What black thingy are we talking about and where? if it's the fuser rollers ( where the paper exits and gets hot then try cleaning w/reg soap & water rag then wipe off.

T630 printer jam

The jams are caused by the fuser assembly (the orange wheel is the pressure roller in the fuser), you will need to replace it. To remove it, undo the two screws on the redrive (plastic cover at the rear of the printer) and remove, then there are two screws holding the fuser in one either side and a couple of cables to unclip. REMEBER THE FUSER GETS VERY HOT and care should be taken.
