Treo frozen with Treo logo on screen

The phone locked up and when I removed the battery and put it back in, the screen got stuck with the Treo logo and won't go any further. I also tried plugging it into the charger with and without the battery and it does the same thing.

  1. Hard reset:
  2. Press and hold the Power (on/off) button on the front panel of your device.
  3. While holding Power, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus. Gently press and release the RESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device (where's the reset hole?).
  4. If you see a progress bar (see below), keep holding the Power button.
  5. Next, the Palm Powered screen will appear. Release the Power button when you see it.
  6. You'll see a screen that asks: Erase all data? YES = "up" button NO = any other button. Press UP on your 5-way navigator to complete the hard reset.
Warning: A hard reset will erase everything on your device. All your data will be removed, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a hard reset unless you've backed up your data, or you're willing to lose everything.
HotSync note:Some third-party applications change the way your device backs up data. Other third-party applications do not back up data. If you have third-party software on your device, please contact the developer to learn what components are backed up during a HotSync operation, and if HotSync conduits are altered. Any data not backed up will be lost.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Phone frozen. Hard reset doesn't do anything

A hard reset will erase everything on the smart phone. If you still see your data, then you were not successful in performing the hard reset. In that case, what you have done is a soft reset.

Carefully try one of these two methods:

Main method:
1. Pull the battery out. Put the battery back in while holding the RED button down and a reset screen will appear.
2. Push the up button on the five-way to start the reset process.

Alternate process:
1. Similar to the hard-reset of the Treo 650. Remove the battery cover.
2. Press and hold the Red radio button.
3. Use the stylus to depress the reset button next to the battery.
4. Push the up button on the five-way when you get a prompt to "Erase all data".

Hello, have a Palm 755p Treo screen just keeps flashing

There are multiple reasons for the phone to go into an endless loop.

Fix #1 - Soft Reset - Take out the battery. On the back of your phone, pop the cover off, remove battery, place battery back in and it will show each screen once and power on normally.

Fix #2 - Hard Reset - To do a hard reset, hold the power button while you replace the battery and then release it when the Palm logo appears.

Fix #3 - Hammer

Is your Palm Centro device locked up and frozen. You might want to try a hard reset. Here’s how.

1. Remove the battery from the rear of the unit.

2. Hold down the power button while reinserting the battery.

3. When the second Palm logo appears, release the power button.

4. Press the Up button to complete the hard reset and erase all data on the Centro.

Turns on then freezes

You may have to do a hard reset on your phone if you haven't already. This will erase everything that has been placed on your device since you have had it--contacts, pictures, videos, texts, emails, etc. It is important that all of your information is backed up to the computer by Hotsyncing your device. If you have not Hotsynced your device recently then you will lose all your information, but since it only goes to the Logo you may have already lost your information. I have a Treo and that happened to my device.

To do a hard reset:

  • Press and hold the on/off button while taking the battery out of the phone (DO NOT let go of the On/Off button while taking the battery out and do not release even after the battery is out).
  • Count to ten and then while still holding the on/off button put the battery back in (DO NOT let go of the On/Off button)
  • The phone should power up and show the Palm logo and at the bottom of the screen the black bar should keep getting longer until it reaches the other side of the screen. The screen should change and say "Access Powered" and then go back to the Palm Logo and that black bar at the bottom of the screen should get longer again.
  • If the phone doesnt show "Access Powered" and stays on the Palm Logo screen, then make sure that the black bar is as long as it can be and then release your finger from the on/off button.
  • There should be another screen that comes up and asks "Reset Phone?"
  • At that point you press the UP navigation key to say YES or the DOWN navigation key to say NO. Either one you press, will restart the phone and it should load fine thereafter.
Sometimes the on/off button gets stuck so you might have to play with it a little. If that the button still doesnt work, you need to take it in to a SprintNextel Service Center and speak with a technician who will open the device and test for any physical or liquid damage which could be causing the button to be inoperable.

Palm Centro locked

If you forget the password, the only way to get back in is to perform a "hard reset." Performing a hard reset causes you to loose all data on your phone unfortunately (numbers, texts, and all). Hopefully you've sync-ed up your data on your computer recently.

To perform a hard reset, do the following:
1 - Remove the battery cover.
2 - Take out the battery.
3 - Put the battery back in. An orange Palm logo will appear on your screen.
4 - While the logo is showing, press & hold the Power/End button until a black status bar appears on the screen, fills completely, and then goes away. Then you can stop pressing the button.
5 - Next on your screen will be a prompt to erase all data. Press up to say Yes.
6 - Next select your language and you have an empty phone to start a new. If you've previously sync-ed up your data, you can sync up now and add it all back.

Good luck!
