I have a HP t200 digital camcorder. Does anyone know how to transfer my videos to a mac? It seems that the software that comes with the camera is only compatible with Windows. Anyone know where to get a software for mac?

IMovie supports both standard and high definition videos in a number of video formats including MPEG-2, MPEG-4, Quick Time Movie, AVCHD, DV and HDV(High Definition Video), free download Video to iMovie Converter to convert video avi/mod/tod/flv/mts/m2ts/tp/trp/m4v/wmv/vob/dat/avchd/dv/f4v/asf, etc. to imovie support which .mp4 or .dv.

Can't upload videos to Imovie

Kodak series cameras capture videos in MOV files. iMovie will only import codecs that it can edit. iMovie can import MP4, DV, Apple Intermediate Codec, H.264, Photo JPEG, Motion JPEG, Apple Animation, and perhaps others. MOV is a multimedia container file, not a codec. It can contain any of the above codecs, but it could contain other codecs that are not editable by iMovie, such as MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 so that sometimes iMovie cannot recognize Kodak videos directly.
please try this video converter, good luck. kodak video to imovie

Can't transfer videos from JVC Everio camcorder onto my MAC

Share: How to import .tod files from JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to iMovie?

Requirements: iMovie (Part of the iLife 08 package)

Step 1: Connect the Everio to the Mac (Via USB)
Make sure you are powering the Everio from the mains before connecting your JVC Everio Camcorder.

Step 2: Playback on PC
Select “Playback on PC” on the Everio, once connected you will see the Everio HDD symbol appear on the desktop. The video files on the Everio are stored in the SD Folder/PRG***/MOV***.MOD.

Step 3: Open iMovie
Once you open iMovie, you will see that it recognizes the Everio straight away and will attempt to import your video.

You are now ready to use iMovie to edit your video files.

If need change .tod files to common video formats like mov, mp4, m4v, mpg, mpeg, dv, flv, avi, wmv, 3gp, mkv, mp3, aac, wma, m4a, etc. Mod Tod Video Converter for Mac is a good choice. The program can also convert mod tod to ipod, mod tod to iphone, tod to apple tv, tod to blackberry and more devices!

How do I upload videos?

Hi Elisa, I was having the same problem with my MAC. I have a G5 tower. After much searching, here's what I found:
If you open up Image Capture and have this open when your camera is connected. You will be able to download everything, including AVI files. Once you've downloaded the file, open up iMovie. Import the file into iMovie. Do what you need to do and then you can export it as a Quicktime movie.
Phew!

I have a Spny HDR-SR8E Video Camera. Can these images be edited using IMovie 6.03?

Should be yes. if you can't import directly and get iMovie to convert properly or import the files to your hard drive and "image" them so that iMovie will recognize them for "Import from Camera" and properly convert them, then I would convert manually using Voltaic for AVCHD and MPEG Streamclip (with QT MPEG-2 PLayback component) for MPEG-2 SD content in DV or AIC/AIFF editing or iSquint for MPEG4/AAC or H.264/AAC editing in iMovie.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
Lee

If your computer has a SD card reader, you might be better off putting your memory card into your computer and just copying the data.

Have you made sure your iPhoto is up to date? Perhaps a new update caused this problem.. Maybe you should try an older version of the software. Also, you might want to try other software. (I think you are on a mac?), you might want to try the software that came with the camera, if it works on your computer.

Panasonic Camcorder and my Mac - I can't download my videos to new apple mac iphoto or (image capture)

Simple fix.  This camera saves all the videos as .mod files.  But they're actually MPEG2 encoded.  If you rename them to something that ends with .mpg, then Quicktime will recognize them.

The camera isn't actually designed to work with a Mac.  From what I understand, you have to use a memory card reader to even transfer the files to a Mac.

I will email this to you as well.
