Do you have both an ethernet and a phone cable connected to either your modem or your computer? If you have an ethernet connection, there is no reason to keep the phone cable connected. They are competing. Remove the phone cable and you should be fine.

Try removing the power cord from the back of your modem and router and let it sit for 30 seconds to reset. Plug in your modem first and make sure it's fully loaded. Then plug in your router and wait 30 seconds to load and try again.
Some users have found alternative methods in order to achieve this, but please be aware that online game-play may use a large amount of data that may cause account to use up its associated data amount until a user experiences throttled speeds that still provide unlimited internet for basic web browsing and email.
so that means you are not able to go online using the router. If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work ? If that works then the modem is working properly. You can try to reset the router for 30 seconds , then unplug the power to the router and plug it back in. Wait for 1 minutes and then try to set up the router manually. if the light is blinking when you plug the ethernet cable, it should be ok. If it blinks, unplug the modem, wait 15 secs. then plug it back in so the modem can get the computer's ip adderss. Now, if it does not blink, try another cat5 cable first, and if that does not work you may need to replace your ethernet card.
remove the adapter plug from your modem and also from router. plug in the cable modem and wait 10 seconds, then plug in the router and this should work, if it does not work, there is something wrong with the router.
