Question about Computers & Internet
It will not pick up the hard drive or dvd it show no hard drive installed, I bought another hard drive and the same problem, If I use a usb dvd it will start to load windows and than I get the message no hard drive found, I have gone into bios and set it at default, changed it to only dvd and hard drive, same problem, I took out the cmos battery for about 4 hours and the same no hard drive found....can you help thanks g5114
Look through your bios for a setting called QuickPost/QuickBoot/QuietPost....
Disable this feature then save and exit the bios, when you restart you should see the long version of the bootup screen, generally if it is turned on the laptop will not see or accept hardware changes until you disable the option.
If it finds your drives you can turn the feature back on for quicker booting on the next bootup. If it still doesn't see your drives I would suspect a fault on the motherboard.
Let us know if this works, if not we'll try a few other suggestions.
Hope this helps FixYa,
