Hi I have a Hydronic Air Handler hooked with a Rinnai tankless that is running without producing any heat. The unit basically starts and stops but no water is being pumped into the air handler. The problem just started and I am wondering if the flow switch is broken or needs replacing.

If this is a heat pump the switching valve could be malfunctioning. Check the for continuity on the valve.

Our Rinnai convector unflued room heater won't start. Lights just flash heat never comes on.

According the the Owner's Manual for your Rinnai Convector Heater, there are 8 things, than can cause what you described. Two of which can be discounted, unless you just had the heater installed.

I have provided a link to the Owner's Manual, that you can download and print for future reference. Please pay close attention to Page # 6 -Pre-Service Check List and Fault Finding. Each problem listed has a troubleshooting solution.

Hope this helps you to further troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Cheers!

How to install

Unfortunately, the installation of one of these units is not quite as simple as 1, 2, 3.

So, I am providing a couple links on the installation process. You can download and print each one.

The first is the Flue Installation Guide.
http://www.rinnai.com.au/images/stories/operating_instructions/Heating/Energysaver/CI_ES_Flue_Inst_Manual.pdf

The second is the Operation Guide, which also deals with proper installation.
http://www.rinnai.com.au/images/stories/operating_instructions/Heating/Energysaver/CI_ES_Flue_Inst_Manual.pdf

The third is the exploded parts view & parts diagram, Which you may need in the future.
http://www.rinnai.com.au/images/stories/operating_instructions/Heating/Energysaver/CI_ES_Flue_Inst_Manual.pdf

I hope all of this information will help you properly install the unit.

Can the internal thermostat be adjusted?

The Rinnai Model Number you listed is for a Direct Vent Heater, not a Vent-free or "Ductless Heater".

Whether it's Vent-free or Direct Vent, the thermostat can not be adjusted. If it's not producing enough heat, the air intake filter may need cleaning or there my be some object obstructing the heat output vent on the front of the heater at floor level. Also, not setting the thermostat high enough can also be a cause. And finally, the heater may not be properly sized (Btu Output) for the area you're trying to heat.

For more insight into the Model Number you listed, I have provided a link to the Owners Manual, that you can download and print for future reference. It will also provide you with what needs to be done as part of Routine Maintenance, that you can and need to perform.

Hope this helped to answer your question and provide further information.
