If the line is vertical then the problem is no horizontal deflection. The vertical chip is probably fine.

Check connections around yoke (thats the connector with at least four wires that goes up to the coils around the neck of the tube)

Maybe that TV has two horizontal output transistors. One for deflection and one for high voltage? Check both of them. Look for bad solder joints!!!

How to solve horizontal lines on a CRT TV monitor and what could be the possible courses for it

Monitor horizontal lines problems usually caused by a defective vertical output/driver ic. A missing supply voltage to the vertical output ic may caused similar faults which is one horizontal line across the display. Dry joints and missing vertical output pulse from vertical oscillator ic also could contribute the same symptom. If you discovered that the protection resistor (usually from 1 to 4.7 ohm) open circuit or burnt, then replacing it won't solve the problem. The resistor burnt or open circuit was due to a short in the vertical output ic. Thus you have to replace the vertical output ic and the burnt resistor together before you switch on the monitor.

Bright lines in the center of the screen the height is insufficient.replacing Vertical ic La7830,and 3 or 4 condenser no good.Need schematic diagram try to search for the jungle output.tnx more power

This is the vertical deflection IC of a CRT color TV. If you think it is fried then replace it yourself. For a datasheet of this part check the following link:

http://www.rdd-tech.com/product/la7830

If the problem is the jungle output IC cxa2159s could be a problem and not start the power supply. This can cause an error code to know for sure.

Why come white vertical line on my t.v screen in center?

You said "I checked vertical output line from main ic pin 23 found correct"

But the problem is "Horizontal Output Line" Try that.

Center white vertical line on my t v screen "

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Check the 4 pin connector goes to it deflection yoke; from the main board for any loose solder terminals at the main board side.

I have a sharp tv. the problem is when i turn on the unit it shows a single horizontal line then immediately relays clicks then turns to stand by mode. i already change the vertical ic.

Vertical scan output failure. That is the reason for this horizontal line, right across the center of the screen. Check and replace damaged component/s at it vertical scan output section circuit. Check the solder terminals of the vertical scan output IC; for any loose solder points. Contact any service technician, if you're not handy in electronics.

Line, faults & possible causes to TV screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.

I have a three year old model pvc2542 tv/vcr combo the picture is just a line in the center of the screen

Bad vertical deflection circuit, unless you have a bad connection (bang on set to set it it fills out for a second) . you will need components replaced such as the IC, capacitors possibly a fuse from the power source to the vertical IC.
If its a bad connection soldering the IC pins is not to hard if you are OK with taking it apart yourself.

The picture is compressed to a very small horizontal line across the center of the screen. What needs to be replaced?

Probably the vertical output IC and a couple of electolytic capacitors that dried up and caused it to fail.

your vertical output has collapsed. The vertical output ic is probably not working .It has to be replaced, and maybe some of the circuity surrounding it.I assume you have sound?

Screen only showing single line of video in center.

hi there, is the single line horizontally or vertically? if horizontal line, you do have a vertical section problem, check some parts at vertical section, the vertical ic, the power source of vertical section ie diode & resistors. ty
