Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My son's ipod nano 3rd gen no longer displays a clear screen. It was purchased in July '08. It has jagged lines across it almost like a crack. The screen itself is not cracked. This the internal display. The music still plays. What can we do?

Is the player covered by the warranty?
here is the online service assistant
https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

you can check the warranty on that page, if the page doesn't open or you get a error message just open up a new window, and write on the address exactly: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

the lcd display could be faulty or it might have gotten a hit / dropped. It might go on repairs under warranty, as a faulty display.

you could possibly replace the screen yourself, the parts for these are cheap.
Just looked around for the parts and their prices, have a look at these two:

iPod Nano 3rd Gen Color LCD Screen Display New

And

Parts for ipods http://www.parts4ipods.com/epages/es115703.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es115703_shop/Products/3G_LCDNN

or ebay.com, the parts for ipods might sell a toolkit (screwdriver or two and a case opener tool) to help you do the repair, I've seen them on ebay also if its not available at parts for ipods.

many places sell those parts, I think you can even send the laptop to someone if you don't want to do the repair yourself and it goes outside of warranty then try http://store.ifixipodsfast.com/

if you need anything or if you have any questions let me know.

How can I use JVC AVX810 with Iphone? Currently IPOD works fine with the USB cable but IPHONE is not recognised. Maybe there is an adaptor that can solve it?

JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini (1st/2nd gen), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic (80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

My Jamo i300 will not charge my new ipod nano (4th Gen).

not likely the new 4 gen Ipod has different pin set within its dock connector system for the video output which has made many 3rd party accessories no longer able to charge the ipod but it will still play music

I locked my ipod and forgot the code

If you have a third gen ipod nano and you locked the screen lock and forgot the code, well what you do is you hook your ipod to your PC,laptop ect. and disconnect it. It should be unlocked. But if you lock it you have to do that over again to unlock it.

Ipod Nano 3rd gen 8gb

I have the same problem with the new model that just came this week. I have tried everything. I am furstrated that apple has no 24 hour support on these things as they have sooooo much business. Their automated line tried to help, but with their marketshare, you'd think they'd have 24/7 support. I plan on taking it back tomorrow.

if it doesnt fix it then you most likely have a broken screen.
