Question about Samsung Glyde SCH-u940 Cellular Phone
Just had my daughter in New Jersey send me a new Samsung Renown phone for the Verizon network (other was stolen while here in Vancouver) and I thought it was activated. But when I turn it on, I get Initial Programming Needed and it does not connect to any network under any of the 3 modes, CDMA, Global and GMA. After taking out the Sim Card and battery a few times and replacing them, no luck. Since I am in Canada, Verizon stores are few and far between and *228 does not connect or variants on it e.g., *22801 etc. Contacting customer support is an endless exercise.
Verizon customer service isn't always very helpful, but the verizon website can be. Try clicking phones&devices under the support section. Once you select what type of phone you have, you will see that it says "activate phone" on the left side of the page. This will guide you through the activation of your phone, and the instructions are pretty clear. Hope this helps.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
