I have an electrical issue with my Nissan Presage. It is taking about 0.14 on my meter.

some nissan data links have to be switched on by turning a screw in the side of the ECM At the back in the side (RHS)
to do this access the ECM
switch engine on--do not start the engine
turn diagnostic mode selector on ECM fully clockwise
wait 2 seconds
turn diagnostic mode selector on ecm fully counter clockwise
the self diagnosis is now in read mode
I suggest that you take it to a service dealer or an accredited service shop familiar with your vehicle and have them read the codes and show you how to do it at the same time

What's your problem?powerprotection mode unlock

If the protect function works and causes hindrance to trouble shoot, cancel the protection function as described below, and it will be possible to enter the self-diagnostic function mode. (The protection functions other than the excess current dtect function will be disabled.)

While pressing the "Tone Control" and "Info" keys, press the "Power" key to turn on the power and keep pressing those 2 keys for 3 seconds longer.

The seld-diagnostic function mode is activated with the protection functions disabled.

In this mode, the "Sleep" segment of the Flourescent Display flashes to indicate that the mode is self-diagnostic function mode with the protection functions disabled.

Caution!!!! Usiong this product with the protection function disabled may cause further damage to your unit, so use special care when using this mode.

Can't turn on "A" speakers and "B" speakers at same time

This is a self-protection mode protecting the receiver from low impedence / High Current on the speaker side. Given that this is an exercise stereo and it may be turned up I would recommend purchasing a second amplifier to run the second set of speakers. Obviously I would recommend one that you would be able to add and remove before and after the class.

I have a kenwood stereo and the diplay is reading Protect what do I do? I have the code and it gets approved everytime then just diplays protect right after.

If you have a model with a detachable face there is a reset button under the face. Reset back to original state. If that doesn't work some of the older Kenwoods defaulted to the protect screen whenever there was a 'fault' in the system. ie. a shorted wire or blown speaker.

Its on protect mode and i cant get it off

Look on the face plate for a really small hole. Put the tip of a pen in the hole and hold it for a few seconds. Your system should then re-set. If the Protect signal keeps coming on, take it to the dealer to make sure your stereo is wired properly....hope this helps

My jcpower car amplifier is not sound come out

you are probably getting a high voltage jump when you turn it up which will throw the amp into protect mode the only thing I can think of is trying a voltage regulator for your stereo

Stereo goes into protect mode

Protect is a safety feature so that you do not blow your speakers. However with it hooked up with the computer you may have surpassed the max output. If it still does this with out going through the computer, it has been damaged.

Usually "protect" mode means it has either

1. Overheated (a thermistor on/near the cooling fins for the audio output transisitors has indicated that the machine is running too hot). This is usually solved by turning the unit off for 30 min.

or

2. Some circuit inside the unit has indicated an error condition, turning your stereo into a doorstop.

Thanks,
Rob

Protection mode

It's normal for some amps to go into protect for a few seconds when initially powered up. If it remains in protect mode, it may have shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible causes, read through the following troubleshooting page:

Can't do anything - LCD screen says "PROTECT"

It may be that there is a problem with a fuse inside the stereo. It may say protect because the fuse has broken a connection that allows it to turn on. If the protect goe sup it is trying to help save the stereo from cooking its self, and give you a chance to get it fixed. If that is not the problem then it may be easier to just buy a new one, because a fix may be expensive if you don't have any warranties.
