Problems with touchpad

Hi, I have a nc8430. My touchpad is not working correctly. Most of the time it's fine but sometimes it's almost unusable. It moves but very slowly and randomly. When it doesn't work I can solve the problem by putting the computer in my lap. When I do this everything works fine. Any ideas of what this can be and how I can fix it? I have updated the hardware.

    Thanks,

    How do I do that?

It was when I replaced my old
power adapter the problem started. When I connected the new one the
touch pad worked really poor. But I charged the battery over night and
    then everything worked fine.

The problem comes and goes, but if I get some air under the computer it starts working fine.

Can it be something with the fan?

It kind of sounds to me like the connector inside your laptop the plugs the mouse into the motherboard may be loose. You might want to start by reseating it. Just a thought. :)

Touchpad not working correctly..

try blowing out all of the dust from your keyboard using a fine air blower from an air compressor making VERY sure there is no MOISTURE in the lines.

dust causes static which causes lots of problems with a computer and its parts

hope this helps

The mouse pad has stopped working on my sons emachines e430 how can i get it start working again???????

Hi there,

At the top of the keyboard there is a touchpad toggle button (enables and disables the touchpad) that may automatically be disabled at boot time.

You will see just above the keyboard three oval silverish buttons the first one on the left is to enable or disable the touchpad.

Here's the official site for the manual showing all the function keys and features:

HP NX6125 mouse running away

I've had this problem with my Dell laptop before, it sounds like you have a phyiscal problem with your touchpad. I had to disable the touchpad within the mouse settings in control panel and either use my pointing stick or an external mouse.

This should work...
