2007 Hawkeye. Rev the engine & when it idles down there is a rattle or grinding coming from the clutch or in behind the clutch.

The Hawkeye atvs use a roller type clutch which will make more noise than the sportsmans or other polaris atvs anyways, but the rollers are probably getting worn to the point they need replaced if it is a 2007. It is best to have a reputable dealer replace these parts but if you need my assistance let me know I will be happy to help, Daniel.

Anyone know about 1996 polaris sportsman 400 - none of the lights are working - headlights, tail lights, not even the neutral light or reverse lights work - have looked for for broken wires and can not...

I also have a 96 Sportsman 400...local dealer told me if these bikes are operated with a low\bad battery the electrical system is designed such that the light bulbs will blow. I and a bad battery and non of my lights worked when I got the bike started. So, I replaced the battery and headlight bulbs and they now work. I would recommend replacing your battery if it's questionable and then your bulbs...worked for me!

Can you tell me where the fuse on my 1999 polaris 400 explorer?

Check the battery for a shorted out cell. When these machines battery goes they will blow every bulb or almost every bulb.
There is no fuse just a circuit breaker that controls everything. It is located in the rear section inside a black plastic bag.
This may just be the start of a long process to get everything eliminated. Electrics can be a pain but in time you can trace it.
