Is it connected via cable?

If so disconnect the cable, if you want it to work wireless.

SOURCE: my wireless HP prn stopped working suddenly with NetGear router

You need to go into the netgear router settings online with a computer that is attached to the router. You enter this:192.168.0.1 in the address bar to gain access. You need to know your username and password to gain access to the menu. Then check the wireless settings to see or change the passphrase. Good Luck

SOURCE: Netgear WGR614 wireless problems.

Netgear WGR614 54Mbps Wireless Router

  1. Begin setup of your Netgear Wireless Router by first reading the instructions in the included manual, and following their guidelines for plugging in and initializing the access point. The first few steps in this guide should coincide with the information found in the manual, however we will follow up with important information on how to secure your wireless access point.
  2. After powering up the router, use an ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of the ports on it marked 1 through 4. Next open a web browser window on the connected computer and type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar and press enter. This will take you to the Netgear Smart Wizard welcome page, click OK to begin the configuration. The router will attempt to detect the type of connection you have and the next message you receive should be Dynamic IP (DHCP) Detected, click Next once you see this.
  3. Next you will enable the wireless capability of your router. In the dropdown box for the region where you are located select United States from the list. On this screen you should also change the Wireless Network Name (SSID) from its default value to something unique so that your Base Station will not be confused with another. Click Next.
  4. You should now see a message confirming that your connection is working and wireless is enabled. However, your are not secured yet. Read the notes and click Done. Then direct your browser to http://www.routerlogin.net to continue the configuration. A window will pop up prompting you for your login and password, enter admin for the username and password for the password, then click OK.
  5. Once you have logged in you will see the main configuration page (shown above). Now click on the Wireless Settings at the left of the page. In order to password protect your wireless network select the WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) option under the Security Options and then under the Security Encryption (WEP) section that appears, select 128 bit next to Encryption Strength. Choose a password between 6 and 8 characters and type it into the Passphrase box under the Security Encryption (WEP) Key heading. Then click Generate. Finally click Apply. You may also select WPA encryption, however not all network cards support this, so check your documentation first.
  6. Next look for the Advanced section heading on the left side of the page and click on this Wireless Settings section. Enable the SSID broadcast option by checking the second box in this section and then click on the Setup Access List button.
  7. On this page (seen below) check the box to Turn Access Control On and click on the Apply button to save this setting.
  8. Now click on the Add button, this will display a Wireless Card Entry heading. This is where you will choose a name and enter a MAC Address, also known as Physical Address, for each computer that you will be using to connect to your wireless network. If you don't know how to get this information follow the steps here. Once you have finished, click the Apply button.
  9. Finally click on the Set Password link on the left of the page under the Maintenance heading. Change the default password for accessing your wireless router setup pages by first typing the old one, password, into the appropriate field and then entering a new one into the New Password field and confirming it. This should be a different password than the one you setup for WEP encryption, but should also be atleast 6 to 8 characters in length. Click the Apply button.
  10. Your Netgear Wireless Router is now secure.

Also check to make sure you are broadcasting your router, in the settings (Step 6). This will not hide your router from devices that you want to connect, such as mobiles and consoles, which is what you want to do.

SOURCE: I need the security key to my existing wireless netgear router.

The Security Key is normally used for Wireless routers to protect your connection from any unauthorized use. As you have said that you do not have the Security key for your router with you, the best way to connect your ACER laptop to the Netgear router is by asking your Wireless service provider to reset the security key & freshly reentering the same on both of your HP & ACER laptops.

SOURCE: mac no longer connecting to hp wireless printer

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router is there any computer connected to the router ? If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer. Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

Having trouble uninstalling netgear wpn511

Need your version of MS Windows (or are you using Linux or Apple OS?), anyway, assuming
MSWin XP or WinVista or Win7,

start > control panel > add or remove programs > (L-click) Netgear software > (select) "Uninstall"

but if these vanilla instructions have been tried & aren't working, you may need to do a "system
resore" to a recent system configuration that worked well, then uninstall there, then re-install
all the stuff you're missing by doing a system restore...... if you've installed alota stuff recently
(like me) this could be very painful, and you won't know how far back to go until an uninstall works.

From the Netgear WPN511 RangeMax reference manual
avail from: ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WPN511_UM_03Feb07.pdf

Removing the WPN511 Software

If necessary, you can remove the wireless adapter software in these two ways:
• Navigate the Windows Start menu to the WPN511 Wireless PC Card program group, select the
uninstall option, and follow the screen prompts.
• Navigate the Windows Start menu to the Control Panel Add or Remove Program item, select
the WPN511 Wireless PC Card option, and follow the screen prompts.

If your system is acting unreliable and/underperforming in other ways, suspect a virus/worm/trojan
and clean out your system with Avast!/Norton/AVG/Kaspersky/McAfee, etc. then try the
uninstall again.

I experienced this problem before, what mine turned out to be was that when I configured the router to accept a passphrase the problem would appear it worked fine without the passphrase but this is not secure at all. I tried a few things, but nothing worked. I ended up getting a NetGear Router.

Hope this helps

Did you change your wireless SSID and channel? Better to enable encryption too. If this problem never happens when you're connecting to other wireless networks you might as well update or reload the firmware/software of your router.

NETGEAR wgr614 instalation

They don't seem to offer a download for the CD, but it's not really necessary.
Go to http://www.netgear.com/ and download the manual, which gives very clear instructions. This might take a little longer, but you'll have a much better understanding of routers when you're finished.
FWIW, most routers will work without any set up at all.
To enable encryption, you'll need to review the instructions.
