No need to worry about this issue,,,,
turn off ur router for 2 minutes..wait for 1 minute..turn on the router and wait for other 2 minutes..now it should work..
If still its not working means..there will be a reset button in the router..press the reset button and hold it for 60 secs..turn off ur router and turn it on..wait for 1 minute..
try to connect thru wireless..it will work

You need to go into the netgear router settings online with a computer that is attached to the router. You enter this:192.168.0.1 in the address bar to gain access. You need to know your username and password to gain access to the menu. Then check the wireless settings to see or change the passphrase. Good Luck

Netgear WGR614 54Mbps Wireless Router
Also check to make sure you are broadcasting your router, in the settings (Step 6). This will not hide your router from devices that you want to connect, such as mobiles and consoles, which is what you want to do.

The Security Key is normally used for Wireless routers to protect your connection from any unauthorized use. As you have said that you do not have the Security key for your router with you, the best way to connect your ACER laptop to the Netgear router is by asking your Wireless service provider to reset the security key & freshly reentering the same on both of your HP & ACER laptops.

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.
