Can't get oil to nozzle on oil burner after replacing pump

I replaced the oil pump with same (direct replacement Suntec) on an Aero Oil 60 Gal fired Hot water heater. It bleeds fine, getting ALL the air out. I did replace the oil filter. I put the old pump back on to get me through the night. I put the new pump on again today. Still no oil coming out of the outlet port. Inlet fuel to proper port. Oil does come out of gauge port. Pressure screw in all the way and backed out 5 turns. Still no fuel to nozzle. Is there a special bleed or prime that I need to do? I've had this problem before!!!!!

Assuming that this is a pressure jet burner...I'd need a bit more Information, for example what is the burner type? also you may have a direct replacement..but which way does the Pump rotate...you can get clockwise & anti clockwise pumps...this could be a possibility

I have no hot water, how do I change the filter in a Bock Water Heater 32E 32 gal oil-fired hot water heater ?

Unfortunately, looking at the manual for the water heater, the filter is a separate item. And the recommended Delavan line filter page just shows a picture and part numbers of the item, not how to remove it.
I suspect it works in such a way that you hold the end nut portion and turn the large nut portion with open end wrenches. You will need the internal filter replacement and possibly new seals, probably in a kit.

Line Filter

You'll want to turn off the power to the oil pump so you don't make a large mess.

I have a riello burner 40 it will fire and come to temp but wont refire, goes into lockout

My first guess would be that it sounds like a clogged oil filter, air in your fuel line, is piping overhead, or leak in a fitting or connection causing it to loose it's prime when running.

I have also seen primary controls that are faulty do this, watching the complete cycle of the run time will give you more clues as to when the control actually locks out. Does it lock out during the run cycle as the boiler reaches temp.? If so,check for oil line and suction issues as stated above.

If it locks out on start up after reaching boiler set temperature, if hitting reset right away burner doesn't start and lock out occurs with no motor engaging, check motor (Note: Some motors when HOT will not kick in when powered, but after they cool down naturally they start, motor shaft may also be bound up tight, replacement is necessary) if burner motor spins but does not fire, check for fuel flow to the nozzle, be sure oil is pumping to the nozzle, if it is, clean cad cell eye, and check transformer for spark, if all is good.. replace primary control.

Disclaimer:
Of course all this information is technical troubleshooting information and should be performed by a Licensed Technician, not knowing how to properly test for flame failure can cause injury, fire or worse! Consult a technician in your area if you are not proficient at oil burner repair!

Amtrol wh-7p

The tank rusting itself shut is almost an impossibility due to pressure. I would be inclined to believe that the controller is starting to fail and water that was way too hot entered the system and caused and overpressure issue that made the leak, When the pressure and temp dropped, the problem subsided. According to some of the threads that I have found on this, Amtrol is pretty generous about replacing the defective parts even when they dont have to. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/water-heaters/335226-amtrol-boilermate-problem.html

The nozzle size and gap completely are designed to each burner, if the bock water heater had a becket burner than you would be okay with the gap, if not then what I would do is check the manufactures manual for proper nozzles and gaps of electrode assembly

It sounds to me like you probably have a clogged oil nozzle. Of course I'm am assuming that you bleed all the air out of the oil lines that run both to the hot water tank and the heating appliance. If you have solid flow at the water heater pump, and the unit still does not ignite, it is most likely the nozzle. Hope this helps

Beckett home oil burner

problem is pump-must replace- there is a valve inside unit that holds pressure to about 150psi -it is leaking by when unit shuts down- causing problem. If left unrepaired you could blow chimeny connection with bad ignition. good luck
