Question about Zenith R45W46 45" Rear Projection Television

Open Question

Zenith R45w46F Turned off and won't come back on.

While watching my TV it shut itself off and now won't come back on. No power outages or surges (that I know of). I have 2 of these models in my home and the other is fine. The red light is "on" and bright. I tired to use the power button on the remote and the set. Nether worked. I also tried to hold the mute and enter, mute and menu buttons. Nether worked. I also unpluged it for about an hour. Nothing has worked so far. Any ideas?

SOURCE: The lamp went out in

Yes, the procedure you've entered, pressing the "?" key at the remote control at standby mode, follow by pressing 9,8,7,6 is correct to reset the lamp timer.

Another is by pressing and holding the "Menu" key at the remote control until the "OSD" (on screen display) menu disappears follow by pressing 9,8,7,6.

If the unit still keeps turning off, let me know which led light(Operation, Lamp, temperature) at the front panel lit solid/blink and its color to determine where the fault came from.

SOURCE: zenith R45W46F will start to power up but goes back off. what's wrong?

The most common problem is the convergence. Google your model # + repair kit and look into this. As always this being a high voltage device I would recommend having a shop checking it first.

Hi,first you need to check if fuse has not been blown out.Because when POWER comes back after an outage there is a surge voltage flowing through electrical lines. It is advisable that when their is a POWER outage you have to turn off your FUSE box or SAFETY box to make sure that it won'tdamage appliances when POWER comes back>Technically when POWER SOURCE or SUPPLY has been shut off for a period of time. When POWER is back, expectantly there is an abnormal flow of current/line; current will not be as stable until a period of time..AC current behaves like a wave, values changes from time to time especially when POWER SOURCE has just been TURNED ON..So better turn off FUSE BOX when experiencing POWER OUTAGE so that when power comes back SURGE VOLTAGE wont flow within the circuit>Hope this helps..

Had a power outage while watching tv. Then 3 blinking lights.

This is an on-going problem with DLP sets. Normally you shut the set off and the cooling fan cools the lamp down and then it shuts off. In your case, of which it's not your fault, however your lamp has taken a major hit by not properly cooling down, in turn, you need to replace your lamp at this time.
I suggest in the future if you have an electrical storm and a chance of a power outage while your watching tv, I would'nt play that model or any other model of a DLP set.

After a momentary power outage Panasonic LCD TV has a flashing red light and will not turn on.

Try using a different outlet, the outlet or the tv may have been damaged in the surge. In the case of the tv contact the manufacturer and see if it's still under warranty. There may also be a way to 'reset' the tv by holding the power button down, try looking in the manual or calling customer support. In the future use a surge protector, many of today's electronics are still sensitive to power surges, older tv's were more resilliant than today's in this regard.
