Lost the front plastic ink cover, can't get it to print with the message that the ink cover is open

Hi, when I power up my MP630, there is a loud clacking sound and then I get an error code of 5100 of 5C20. There is no paper jamed - can you help?


Error Code 5100
It can have a lot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) was not lubricated well enough from factory. If you lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps) the mechanism can now slide more freely, and the unit can park the head properly without giving you the dreaded head homing error 5100 (or E-2-2 on the LCD display) Keep in mind that this repair will probably require you to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. There are two screws behind the printer, and two in front for each corresponding side panel (the front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on)

Error 5200:


Start with printer powered off
1. Open cover of printer and verify that the ink cartridge carriage is not in the center of the printer. Leave cover open.
2. Unplug the electrical cord from the printer and wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug electrical cord back in, when ink cartridge carriage moves to the center of the printer quickly unplug the electrical cord again. This should leave the ink cartridge carriage in the center of the printer so you can get to it.
4. Lift up the gray arm that surrounds the ink cartridges.
5. Remove the entire ink cartridge holder (not just the ink cartridges). It will lift out easily as a unit. Lower the gray arm that you lifted to remove the cartridge holder.
6. Close printer cover. Plug electricity back in.
7. There should be a message about checking the ink cartridge on the display (I can't remember exactly what it said but it was something like that).
8. Open printer, lift the gray arm that surrounds the ink cartridge area and reinsert the ink cartridge holder (with the ink cartridges in it). Lower the gray arm.
9. Close printer cover.
10. The display should appear normal now, and you should be able to print again.

Message says no paper in front tray. Paper is where I've always put it in back. Won't print.


go print -> properties -> page setup -> print options -> tick Disable the paper source setting of the application software -> hit ok and go back to "main" -> select the paper source that you want and hit ok ok and print

Installing ink cartrage in a royal 435dx cash register


1. Open the printer compartment by lifting the black, plastic printer cover.
2. The ink roll is found in the front of the printer compartment, just behind the print
head, and is mounted in a plastic cartridge.
To remove, grasp the small clip on the left of the ink roll (where the words "PULL UP" may
be printed on the ink roll cartridge) and pull up.
The ink roll will easily pull up and away from the print head.
3. To replace a new ink roll, insert the ink roll according to markings "L" (Left) and "R"
(Right) by pressing downward to lock it into position, then close the printer cover. No tools
are necessary.
For best performance, store unopened ink roll package in a cool, dry place until installed.
NOTE: Replace with ROYAL Ink Roll, Part #013109.

Getting "inner cover is open" message


The inner cover is a flap on the inside in front of the carriage when it is at rest when the cover us open. You had to flip the inner cover down to access the ink cartridges.
Open the cover. The inner cover is in the center and need to be flipped up.

Try reseating the ink cartridge and see if the cover door is firmly closed.

I have a Kyocera FS-2000D printer that will not print


first turn off your pritner power.
check open the front door pull your ink cartridge then clean dust and blur from it then check there is not any paper jam then refix ink cartridge.then turn on the power.

Error message: Service error 5100 on my new Canon MP160 Printer


no prob try -- As a technician, I have worked on tons of printers. This particular error had stumped me for a while, but I finally found the cause. As others had pointed out before, it can have alot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. You're on the right track - I found the the purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) was not lubricated well enough from factory. Hardware Error 0502


There could be 4 possibilities.

1. Ink cartridges lids are open which is not allowing cartridges to move freely.
2. Ink cartridges carriage will not move from its original position(left) when front cover is opened
3. Encoder strip is Dirty.
4. Encoder strip is Out of position.

Solution:
1. Open the front cover and check if ink cartridges lids are properly snapped in.

2. Turn the printer off and pull out the power cable from power socket, open the front cover and manually center the ink cartridges carriage.
Clean the metallic rod inside the printer using WD40 or Kleenex from Left corner to right corner properly.

3. Cleaning the encoder strip:
a. printer should be off and disconnected from power.
b. open the front cover.
c. Using a dry, lint free cloth, pinch the encoder strip on the right-hand side of the cartridge carriage and pull your fingers across it toward the right-hand side of the printer and you can move the cartridges carriage to clean the strip completely.
d. Note: The encoder strip is a narrow band of clear plastic and can be difficult to see without direct lighting running parallel to metallic rod.
e. Close the printer and try again to print.

4. Repositioning the Encoder strip.
a. Remove the power cord from the printer.
b. Open the front cover.
c. Gently slide the ink cartridge carrier to the middle of the printer.
d. Gently move the top part of the printer belt to the right.
e. Using an index finger, gently push encoder strip down and then back up, to get it back into the slot located on the back of the ink cartridge carrier.
f. Gently press the strip first to the rear, and then forward, to ensure that it is seated correctly.
g. Manually move the ink cartridge carrier to the left, then to the right, to check the positioning of the encoder strip.
h. Once the encoder strip has been re-seated, close the scanner lid.
i. Re-connect the power cord to the printer and try again to print.
