DVD device wont start automatically

My dvd/cd do not start automatically. I did follow some response concerning dvd device. In the panel control we can see that the device is listed correctly. As you suggest I did delete the device and reboot the system. Result after windows did install the drivers it was the same. I also did regedit in the Hkey local machine till class and I did delete upper and lower filter and reboot the system result still the same. Please help me resolve this problem, P.S. The device is working when I open it with the DVD Icon. Thanks!

Ok. Right-Click on the DVD drive idon (empty or not) and select PROPERTIES from the menu. In the resulting window, select the tab AUTOPLAY and make your selections. (I.E. audio cd, movies, etc.). I am sure this will resolve your issues.

Choose "Ask every time". It is the default setting, and lets you decide the best option afterwise.

My Lenovo 3000 G410 Optiarc DVD/RW AD 7560A can t read just writed cd/dvd. But it dose not happend with the original/licence cd /dvd.

First you need to check your DVD rom drivers if it is detected in the Device manager window, Just click on Start , Control Panel, System then Device manager there you can check the list of all your devices.
  • In Device Manager look for DVD/CD-rom drives click the arrow or plus sign on the left to show he sub Menu.
  • Check to see if there are any Marks such as question marks, Exclamation Points or Red X's.
  • Hopefully there are none of any, if there is try uninstalling the driver then restart the machine it should automatically reinstall the DVD/CD-rom.
  • Now to get the not reading error, Click on Start, then on the Start Search Bar type on REGEDIT then press enter. mvincentc_35.jpg
  • This will open the Registry Editor Window.
  • In the Registry Window follow this key path = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

mvincentc_38.jpg

mvincentc_39.jpg
Once the dvd/cd-rom appears a list on the Right pane window will show, on the list looke for upper and lower filters then delete both then close the registry window then restart you computer.

This should help restore you DVD/CCD-rom back to a reading state.

Have a nice day,

My disc wont run

Hello,

Make sure that the CD/DVD drive is detected in the windows explorer or in my computer. If not then follow the steps in this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461.

If same thing, uninstall and reinstall the driver for the CD/DVD drive. Go to control panel (classic view or small icons)/device manager/DVD category. Expand the DVD category in the device manager and uninstall the driver and restart the PC to reinstall automatically the driver.

Good luck.

Hp 9910dv doesn't recognise dvd/cd drive What

This issue could be due to corrupt or missing CD/DVD drive drivers or corrupt registry keys. To resolve this issue, perform the following:

Remove and reseat the CD/DVD Drive of the notebook by referring the service manual provided below:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01951704.pdf

Refer page no: 59 & 60.
NOTE: PDF manuals require the Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing and printing.
If issue persists, Run Microsoft Fix it to remove drive limits. You can find Microsoft Fix it in the web link below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00678214&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3740565&lang=en

Further, reinstall CD/DVD drivers from Device Manager by following the steps listed below:

1. Click Start, Control Panel, Device Manager.
2. This opens Device Manager window.
3. Click "+" beside CD/DVD Device Category.
4. Right-click the listed CD/DVD/RW and select Uninstall.
5. Follow onscreen instructions to complete the uninstallation.
6. Now restart the system.

Windows will redetect the device on restart and reinstalls the drivers automatically. Now check for the issue.

LG GSA-E10L DVD±RW Dual Layer

Try reseating your IDE cables. or Assuming you have powered down and restarted and then click start button\control panel\system\hardware tab\device manager and see if there are any yellow/red flags that might give you some information.

If all else fails go to the cd drive in device manager and uninstall the driver and follow directions, choose automatic install when it gets there. Then do the same with the cd/dvd and see if things work.
